Postum Report
Well, I got off my dunch last week and drove to an Ingles grocery store that carries Postum. I saw it in a Vermont Store catalog over Christmas for a whopping $19 for a very modestly sized bottle. The Ingles price was much more reasonable (about $7.50) and so I brought home a...
About 2 years ago, my folks bought a Black and Decker can opener (EC475B) which has been a disaster. It's one of those bladeless openers, and it's the fussiest thing in the kitchen. The can has to be at exactly the right angle to the cutting edge, or the thing will skip, leaving you to go around...
I have a few early 60s AM FM radios that are getting wonky reception and I suspect the capacitors are failing. They are all common Sears table top models (i.e. nothing special) so I'd like to try my hand at doing this myself.
I already know my way around circuit soldering and capacitors, but I...
I just discovered two bottles of Clorox I forgot about. I opened both and there was virtually no smell. I'm gonna take a wild guess and say it's no longer bleach.
How long can it sit on the shelf before it goes?
Thanks to everybody that's had input on this thread so f
I decided to go with Arm & Hammer as a trial. I've run a number of loads and been happy with the results so far. The smell is fresh but not obnoxious and seems to do a good job as a cleaning agent.
I'm looking for a beverage to replace coffee for me and I found out that Postum is being made again, but in limited distribution. (Either I have to pay Vermont Store's extortion price or drive about 10 miles to an Ingles Grocery store).
Before I do either, I'd like to know if anybody on the...
After almost a year of going through the army sized box of laundry detergent that you get from Sam's Club (bought for me without consultation by a loving heart), I am at last down to a week's worth of the stuff, which means I need a replacement soon.
I don't want to start the new year with a...
It's not a real kitchen... it's a set
The first photo got me thinking why she would be crouching in front of a dishwasher with no expression, but the lack of a ceiling in the second photo with the refrigerator clinched it... it's a set for her TV show in 1966 called "The Tammy Grimes Show"...
Your mother was correct.
"Cum" (pronounced Koom for the porn-addled) is Latin for "with", and c with a bar was the old abbreviation, just as c. is circa (about), & = e + t (and) Lb = Librum (Pound), d = denarius (penny as in 3d nails)
I have accumulated a number of washers that I want to put into use and I need to increase the number of delivery points in my laundry room. I realize that "this is what the internet is for", but does anybody have a favorite book or web site that will show how to braze copper pipes? - I just do...
I moved into a house about 7 years ago and the cheap-y faucet in my kitchen is getting shaky (loss of small parts, leaking spray hose head etc.)
I am considering buying the old classic "Dishmaster" because I still do a lot of dishes by hand and missed having it from my boyhood home.
Does...
