Ideas why Miele W1 might be tripping waterproof error?

Diagnosed by Laptop Software Miele provides diagnostic programs on the Laptop the technician should have had. The Laptop connects to the front panel of the machine via an optical interface found on the spot just above and to the right of the word TwinDos on the display panel and the software...

    I splurged on something...

I don't have your exact model of W1 so I can't really comment on the glitches you experienced. On my model, Single Wash is for loads of less than 4.5 pounds and yes it is for cottons or the Normal program wash. It takes about 33 minutes, 1 wash 2 rinses, but you can add an extra rinse. I also...

Thanks for that video. I had not seen that vid before, and that helps explain what it does. So in the USA our W1 machines spin and spray but I am not sure about that heating method. Most of us are supplying our own hot water to the machine so maybe it might do this on the 140F or 60C...

Henrik and others in the EU: Can you give us an explanation of what and how Powerwash 2.0 works? I understand the first version of Powerwash and my W1 uses that. I've seen the Powerwash 2 term, and have watched videos of it but have no idea what I am seeing or why it is being done. Why is...

    Bleach Detergent?

Regular Finish Powder I have been using regular Finish Powder which I also bought from Amazon. For some years now this regular formula contains enzymes so the chlorine bleach has been removed. The enzymes actually clean better, but I don't know about how it will do with heavy doses of tomato...

Power Wash 2 I don’t totally understand Powerwash 2.0 but perhaps Henrick can explain it more. I don’t think it takes in water, then pumps it out. Instead, I think it takes in enough water to wet the clothes, then spins that water out into the bottom of the drum and heats it. In the EU it is...

This are good washers. One option I really like is the ability to get a higher level rinse if you go into the settings and turn it on. I don't use it for every wash, but it is nice to have for when you are washing comforters, very large loads or like me for some loads like undergarments since...

Henrik I noticed that your machine has a quick Powerwash, but it also has Powerwash as an option. Can you tell me how quick Powerwash differs from the Powerwash as an option, or do I have that understanding wrong? Your machine's control panel is similar to mine so I guess Miele is sticking with...

Nice machine Henrik. Mine has the wide white ring around the door, but I much prefer your door with the silver ring.

Henrik: If you can find it, can you post a link to the service manual for the W1. I think you said it was for the washer/Dryer, but I would like to browse the copy anyway. Thanks. Frigilux: My W1(USA) version did the calibration run. It is the first run the machine can make and there must...

The Conundrum - Miele Little Giant (PW6068SS) vs Speed Queen (FF7005SN)

I have the W1 washer and love it. You can stuff it to the top, select more water and get the job done, even on a 120V heater. Before this, I had the w1986, same thing with stuffing it except it had a 220V heater and got the water heated very quickly. If it was my choice I would not hesitate...

Cool water washes lead to bacteria in washer

I read this article dealing with cool washes and bacteria. My washer suggests using a 140F wash or clean machine run if you repeatedly use cool water washes, although on washday I usually wash between 104F and 122F, with one load at 140F...

What laundry products do you use and why?

For most regular loads, I use the auto-dosing system on the machine which uses Miele Ultra phase 1 which is detergent, along with Miele Ultraphase 2 which is hydrogen Peroxide. I also run a few loads with Persil liquid stain fighter. For fleece and wool, I use Miele liquid for Delicates and...

    Scientific view on (US) washers

It sounds like the more water after a wash with detergent, the better, at least up to a point. It doesn't have to be a long rinse but more water will remove the dirt better. I like an extra rinse and spin with all of my loads so I do three rinses after my washes.

    New Tide Treatments

I'm using Miele's W1 washer that mixes a 6 enzyme detergent with a strong Hydrogen Peroxide and I still keep my rotation of using Persil Stain fighter and German Persil Megaperls for whites, so I am not having any trouble with stains. I might try Persil Discs now that I've read they do a good...
