was on vacation and did laundry in a commercial speed queen washer dryer

If I am on vacation at a resort or hotel, I would send my laundry to the hotel and have them clean it but if that was not an option I am not sure I would stay at a hotel that made you wash in cold water. The trend is for washing in warm, but the question is what is the temp of what they are...

User Manual Before I buy anything I download the user manual to see how it works and find things I might or might not like. You can find the manual at A.J. Madison, or the Bsoch web site. I found it at Madison and have included the link. If it doesn't work you can go to A.J. Madison and...

I have only cold water source - any washers which have internal heaters?

For cold fill what about a W1? I have a Miele W1 washer. It is 110V but it will heat the water up to 170F for sanitize, up into the 180s for the clean machine cycle, and most cotton cycles will heat to 140F. Not so on the Normal cycle since it is the one that is used for Energy Star ratings...

    New Dishwasher Shopping

So far a lot of comments have been about Maytag or Whirlpool. Both of these are of Whirlpool design. Why not look into Bosch and see what they offer, it will at least be of a different thought process. I have a DW with a filter(not a Bosh). There is no problem having to check it once a month...

    New Whirlpool/Maytag Front Loaders

Mark I think that If the prices for your washer really haven't changed much since you bought it, then there might be the possibility that the new washers will not last as long as your current one. The price for most things have increased since 2005, so if your washer is still the same...

    New Whirlpool/Maytag Front Loaders

And they wonder why other washers sell better than theirs. Sanitize with oxi? Why not just drop the sanitize word? I know you can get some benefits from oxygen bleach but it is not the same as using a higher temperature. I think the sanitize cycle on my machine is around 170F degrees. I...

    Persil Discs

Have not seen these discs in a store near me yet. I bought a small bottle of Persil 2n1 Stain fighter last week and used it to wash sheets on Saturday. Maybe it's my nose but the smell of the stuff in the bottle doesn't smell like before. Instead, it is a chemical type of scent, that doesn't...

My new Electrolux 527 washer and dryer

How many rinses I am wondering how many rinses your washer does on various cycles and what cycles will allow an extra rinse. Does the extra rinse give you a total of two rinses or three? I've seen some video's of the dryer but haven't seen the washer in action yet.

I have only cold water source - any washers which have internal heaters?

I think you can connect the Miele W1 to cold water and it will heat the water. 120v is slower than 220V.

I think every powder I have tried rinses better than it's liquid version.

    The “Woolite” of Dishwasher detergents

I have some china from my grandmother. There are silver rimed plates as well as silver on some wine glasses. These I always hand wash. For another set that is not nearly so dear but is still nice, I wash in the DW on the china/crystal cycle with whatever detergent I am using at the time...

    Miele Heat Pump Dryers, 120V!

This type of temp reduction only happens on the Normal cycle. The USA Energy conservation program requires that the cycle used for energy rating has to be named "NORMAL". In my opinion, this was done to trick consumers into using this cycle since it is named for normal clothes. All of the...

    Miele Heat Pump Dryers, 120V!

I washed kitchen towels this morning and decided to use the Normal cycle. This is the Cottons cycle that was renamed to Normal. I set the max rinse level on and used 3 rinses. The spins between the rinses were good. The estimated time was 1:30 which reduced to 1:05 after a few minutes...

    Miele Heat Pump Dryers, 120V!

Thanks for the German water hardness levels since I don't know what to look for online. I thought about the possibility of the heater not activating near the end of the wash and I am Ok with that. The thing is that when I first got the machine I measured the exit water for each program I ran...

    Miele Heat Pump Dryers, 120V!

I have the W1 and I would be surprised if anyone in the USA could dose Twin Dos according to the specs in the manual. The dosing in the manual calls for much too much detergent probably because the manual is thinking in terms of German water which is certainly harder, at least than mine. I...
