I Think my duet washer has the black mildew problem

While it is now most likely completely redundant, I would also like to say that I have been doing ONLY hot- or warm-water washing since I have had my Frigidaire FL and I have no mold or smell problems. The washer smells like it did the day it arrived here. I use bleach and oxyclean with whites...

Will GE get it right with "Right Height" new laundry pair?

Hello? What's this? An access panel on the bottom of the washer to clean out the pump screen. What a novel idea! Looks like American FL's are starting to catch up to their European cousins...

    Samsung WF210ANW (general knowledge thread)

Melaleuca... FWIW, my mother used to sell that stuff in the early '90s. I always thought it made my clothes smell moldy and the fact that they said once you use their products in your machine, you have to use them exclusively in order for it to work properly sounds almost like brainwashing...

What is the overall reputation of Haier?

window a/c I have had a window a/c unit made by them for three years now and, while somewhat noisy, it works just fine. Not sure I would bank on their larger appliances though.

    Mold in Front Load Washers

Frigidaire FL's Maybe more manufacturers are doing this, but the door boot of my Frigidaire FL has had an almost perfumey smell to it ever since I bought the machine. It's not as strong now, but it still definitely has it's own (pleasant) smell. I'm thinking they did this as a counter measure...

frigidaire gallery washer needs a spider!!!!!

@ Rollermatic: I may be wrong about this, seeing as how your machine is older than mine, but I recall that, during looking for replacement parts for my Frigidaire FL, which is a 2012 model, you can't buy just the spider. They want you to buy the entire inner tub assembly. Consider yourself...

    New FL'r

It could be that since mine is the BOL model, they cut out some of the extras like the other spins. It has no heater and no drum light either. I don't ever hear a banging noise coming from the machine, just the usual sounds of a machine spinning at 1100 rpm. The freshwater rinse button on mine...

    New FL'r

1st spin It does reverse after it pauses. It will start to ramp up to the first spin and then just as everything looks properly balanced and it's acting like it should spin, it drops the clothes and then the machine moves on to the first rinse. Again, it does not do this every time, just some...

    New FL'r

@ Frigilux Without wanting to commit threadjacking here, I would like to ask something that is actually related to the water level in the newer Frigilux FL'ers: Does your Frigidaire usually spin after the wash cycle? 9 times out of 10 mine will not unless I have added extra water via the...

    Holy boot Batman!

Wow! That's crazy! How did it get a hole in it so fast?
  12. frontloaderfan

    New FL'r

Mine doesn't do that at all. It's from 2012 so it must be a feature on the TOL machines only, like the drum light.

Using a Speed Queen FL commercial machine at home?

It would probably be three-phase 240 V (just assuming, so FWIW), and most definitely need to be bolted to the floor. I believe the commercial versions also have a different kind of drain in that they do not pump out their water as much as they just open a valve and dump it into a drain trough...

Using a Speed Queen FL commercial machine at home?

That's something most of us can only dream of, myself anyway. If I could do that, I would do it in a heartbeat. Most of today's appliances are designed to be disposable and tossed after a few years so you're forced to buy a new one. Add to that the SQ laundromat version uses a decent amount of...

    Stacking Duets ---Washers that is...

I know they're Whirlpools but... the owner's manual to my 2012 Frigidaire FL says that two washers must not be stacked on top of each other as they are not designed to carry that much weight. Add to that a rough spin cycle and, as they say in Germany, "you've got your salad".

    Broken shock absorber?

I will do that! I was concerned about using up a service call on a possible non-issue. Would you recommend Frigidaire first or the place I bought it from? THanks! Ryan

    Broken shock absorber?

While washing my baker's whites in my 2012 Frigilux frontloader, I started noticing a new noise coming from the machine. It sounded like the suspension springs expanding and contracting more than they usually do. I waited until the load (regular size, nothing out of the ordinary) was done and...

    Which portable dishwasher?

Mexican markets... There aren't any mexican markets in sanford, but there are several in Manchester, NH. There is also a Serbian market downtown (Manc) that sells Persil as well as a bunch of other German stuff not otherwise available in this country.

    Which portable dishwasher?

Industrial Cascade? Where might one purchase said Cascade? I tend to steer away from loose powders/liquids as I usually get obsessive about the cleaning power and end up overdosing the detergent. I noticed some Mexican markets have Persil now...
