bearing is loosened with a bit of gentle persuasion and a lot of wd-40 and 3 in one oil.

found the problem the lower bearing that the main drive shaft rotates in has locked up. am wondering if there is any way to replace that bearing, either with a bearing for a 1-18 or maybe a generic bearing i could purchase on line somewhere. i cannot post pics tonite as this laptop will not...

you can do it! i've fixed a bunch of these d&m machines, parts are plentiful on ebay at least, probably other places too. i see seal kits all the time, and motors as well. don't get suckered in to paying a huge price, seal kits are usually under 20 bucks and a used motor around 20-50. at least...
