    KDS-18 needs loving home!

i rebuilt this machine last summer, putting in a new pump seal and painting underside of tub to prevent rust. i also took apart drain and fill solonoids, cleaning them to insure they work properly. i thought i was gonna keep it and use it so i pretty much checked everything. trouble is i...

    little forgotten kitchenaid portable

i'm glad that after who knows how many years of non use this little custom model now has a new life in my kitchen! safely resting in one of two dishwasher rows in my kichen. g.e. mobile maid to the right, a 70's maytag harvest gold to the extreme right, and a late model maytag i got out of...

    little forgotten kitchenaid portable

it does a great job washing just as any kitchenaid from that era! love the unique sound of a kitchenaid, you can tell it means business inside. not like these machines today that use about 1/2 gallon of water and dribble it around the tub taking about 2 hours to try to get the dishes clean...

    little forgotten kitchenaid portable

it only has 2 cycles, full cycle and rinse hold. no fancy control panel here, just a timer dial and the cycle buttons. no automatic advance but as you kitchenaid fans already know the timer does manually advance all the way thru the cycle to the "off position" when using the rinse hold cycle...

    WTB KitchenAid KD-12 drain part

just looked at the one I have, I used a piece of black radiator hose to fit over the stub of the output on the dishwaaher. then reduced down with pvc (home depot plumbing) to attach to the drain pump I took from a Frigidaire front load washer, also attaching with a piece of hose.

    WTB KitchenAid KD-12 drain part

looks like a fix is possible there is enough of that fitting to slip on to. I had one like that and I primed it with rusty metal primer spray paint and added a couple coats of rustoleum. then I was able to find a hose somewhere, home depot, auto parts store, not sure where but I found a hose I...

thanks for lookin as john said the delay is also on the main wash, I thought it would just be the final rinse too! but when I ran it the main wash and final rinse was extended about 12 minutes longer to heat the water. the other 2 kenmores I have with rotoracks only heat the final rinse. I saw...

first road trip in over 8 years bags a kenmore 500 top loader!

i love the schematic for this machine, located on the inside back panel. it used drawings of the components that the wiring connects to! I'm guessing this machine is from the early to mid 60's. think I uploaded a couple of the same pics, sorry but they begin to all look the same! but I just...
