    Whats in Your Current Stash....

Here's my current lot. Just trying the new Daz "Summer Flower Power" scent, it's really nice! Tide, Downy, All & Snuggle stash from US trip, and the small box of Tide lemon powder is from a local crap-store, not exactly sure where this is from as it has a million languages on the side, it...

WOW! Did you buy them on your travels or some other way?

    A favorite lost: Wendy Richard

Aww. Saw this on the news earlier - really sad. She's always been on TV since I was little and was one of EastEnders all time greats. RIP Miss Brahms. :(

    Fairy Gel

I've done a few washes with it, as I just had to try it but I'm not normally a fan of non-bio. The smell is very nice and does a pretty good job (didn't try it on anything very dirty though) but I actually found it to be really sudsy, unlike Ariel Excel Gel. I noticed on the Tesco website that...

    Tide rash

Enzymes in laundry detergent are used in tiny amounts and there is no medical or scientific proof whatsoever that they cause skin problems.

Spotted Henkel Dixan in Tesco (Ireland) !!

Netto sell the same thing now and again. It's Henkel but licensed through some UK company - it smells like sweaty feet and is definitely not Persil in disguise as it seems a bit on the cheap side.

    Detergent news

They say that tablets and liquids will go in the next 3-5 years. I can imagine liquids going as gel is P&G's thing now, not so sure that tablets will be so quick to disappear though. If people are still buying them they'd be stupid to get rid of them and a look at supermarket shelves, that are...

    Detergent news

Oh they all do it. Finish Quantum tabs mysteriously had the pack sizes shrink from 24 to 20 while the price went up 60p. Less product AND a price hike. New and Improved = a price increase for anything these days. I'm sure Unilever will be the same when they bring out their more concentrated...

    Detergent news

It smells...zesty! Actually, it's not unlike the lime and apple blossom that it has replaced - strange! There's lots of new detergent action going on in the UK at the moment. 2 new flavours of Surf - "Carnival burst and tangerine" and "Tempting nature and rainflower" and 2 new flavours of Daz -...

    Fairy Platinum

Actually it's "more than 30% phosphates" not "up to 30%" (those > and < symbols had me confused!)

    Detergent news

And here are the new (filler free) P&G tablets. They are thinner than the old ones - the blue packet in the photo is an old packet, not sure if you can see the difference with the new thinner orange pack in my photo! They now come in boxes of 15 or 28 instead of 12 or 24, and the boxes are also...

    Fairy Platinum

Leslie The phosphates are listed as "up to 30%". Rolls_rapide - let us know how they are, if you use them soon. I'm still working my way through a bag of regular ones! Simon

    Fairy Platinum

I picked up these new dishwasher tabs, they look exactly like US Cascade Complete tabs with the 2 colour liquid bit. Not surprisingly, they are premium price, 22 for the same price as 30 regular Fairy tabs. They are supposed to help clean the machine out as well as having superior cleaning...

P&G to reduce formats within 5 years

I find the Persil S&M bottles get really messy - even if no liquid appears to have dripped down the outside of the bottle, it seeps down the inside of the wrapper and leaves gunk in the cupboard. Why not have a pouring spout on the bottles like the US S&M bottles? I'm not too keen on pouring...

P&G to reduce formats within 5 years

It's not surprising that the gel format will replace liquids, but I'm really surprised they are phasing out tablets. The new Bold Infusions range was only released in powder and liquitab formats and I guess the gel format will be launched soon. The Marketing week articles says the Gel format...

    Tide Total Care detergent

I got some of the HE version on a trip to NY - it's good BUT it smells suspiciously like urine. :(

New compact P&G powders for the UK and new Unilever Persil Naturals range

I agree and a lot of people still don't understand what bio/non-bio actually means. I think other Euro countries have it right, with their "White, Colour, Sensitive White and Sensitive Colour" ranges. I guess 'Sensitive' is a more common term for other countries as they have biological...

Which? Detergent Tests 30°C Jan 2009

mrx When it first came out the Excel Gel bottles just had a hole in the lid for dispensing, so drips were pretty normal, but they now have a squeezy ketchup bottle style valve on them which stops any leaks and drips. I have to say that for me the dosing device is the quietest there has ever...

New compact P&G powders for the UK and new Unilever Persil Naturals range

I think both Ariel & Persil need to rethink their powder scents. I'm looking forward to the compact versions though - the liquitabs are going to be tiny! The disappointing thing about the Persil Naturals range is that it's likely to be all non-bio, if they are being marketed for sensitive...
