    Speed Queen TC5 Tub Lean

I know my TC5 also leans somewhat, I'll have to try to note how much as compared to yours on my next wash. But as you say, lean during use is common on this machine, and yours doesn't look particularly severe to me. The lean doesn't seem quite so noticeable during the spin cycles. Despite the...

Something I read on the internet that's disgusting

I'm pleased to see that most members on a site dedicated to clothes washers seem to like clean clothes. :)

Something I read on the internet that's disgusting

I didn't thoroughly read the article, though I remember reading similar. It strikes me as something for people who don't work but have money to waste on fads and fashion statements. I don't have evidence to prove this, but I suspect dirt and bacteria wear down denim fabric about as much as...

Are there any commercial versions of a washer available that are a better deal than Speed Queen TC5?

I would expect the Maytag "commercial" model to have maybe half the durability of a Speed Queen at best, and maybe twice the durability of other washers made by Whirlpool. And I think that's on the optimistic side. I have seen the Maytag "commercial" and Speed Queen compared and discussed on...

New GE Top Load Washer Line-Up

Spin Speed vs. G-Force I would think that g-force would give a better indication of moisture extraction ability than spin speed. I have seen g-force, which is a function of spin rpm and tub radius, given in the specs of some commercial machines, as I recall. But both numbers can be useful.

Something I read online quite often that makes me chuckle

Fads, Marketing, and Fashion versus Practical I've noticed gentleness becoming more of a selling point for washers the more HE washers don't clean as well. Maybe in the same way jean makers are recommending babying them as they make them from cheaper materials. I actually work in my jeans. I...

    SQ New Top Load Washer

I'm sure you're right Launderess. They've probably come up with every kind of selling point over the years. And there seems to be the general decline in the quality of all kinds of products nowadays. Kind of seems strange as we supposedly become more eco-conscious. The more disposable things...

    SQ New Top Load Washer

I love my TC5 Classic, but I have in the past second guessed my decision not to get the redesigned TR7. But the more I think about it, the more pleased I am with my decision. - With the TC5 I can open the lid and watch how it washes. No lid lock, and the lid switch is easily bypassed. It...
