    BD Rebuild

I thought I read on this site That Whirlpool stockpiled some BD machines in case customers who were not happy with the Direct Drive wanted a machine like they had before. Think there were very many of them?

the stupid and the Maytag jet clean dishwasher part 2

Actually I think it is just a matter of some guys here need more fiber in their diet. It's important when you are older. I know I myself get cranky when I don't get enough fiber. Back to the dishwashers, I think even low priced D&M manufactured, crappy Kenmores we had heating the water the...

Your Experience with Electric, Invisible/Hidden Fences.

I don't like them... To me the invisible fences with the shocks reminds me of the movie everyone sees in psychology class where the subject is the "teacher" in front of a console that gives electric shocks to the "student" who is then howling in pain when they get the answers wrong. Every...

Have Increasing Energy Prices Caused Change in Your Laundry Routine

Looking Sharp uses electricity... The iron is the small appliance that uses the most electricity.

POD March 31, 2024 White Westinghouse FL

In my part of the country... Many people either "worked for" or "were an engineer" for Westinghouse and could get discounts on their appliances. Almost all of them chose the WH top loader. Even one neighbor who had a matching front loader set replaced the washer with a WH top loader. The...

A New All-Wheel-Drive vs. what I currently have: Old School Four-Wheel-Drive

As Suze Orman would say... Why, WHy WHY are you leasing a car!?!?!?!?! Suze always says Never, Ever Lease!

the most angering laundry commercial and presentation

But they include the rubber hoses! The dryer has a "flat back"! The washers have Microban! and the stack comes in a diamond gray color too! What are you all so grouchy about?

Do plain old knee length black tube socks not exist anymore?

Don't know if this would help But I had luck with Burton snowboard socks that are thin, synthetic but have some wool in them and support my shins. Would these be long enough even though they are kind of dramatic? I was also wondering if you wanted socks like Pete the Scoutmaster wears on...

    Bosch rack deterioration

Why not stainless steel racks? With maybe some plastic cushions to protect delicate glassware. It must just cost too much to do that. That swelling you see can happen with any regular steel, it is the same effect that cracks reinforced concrete - the rebar rusts and swells and sheds the...

Presenting the 1961 RCA Whirlpool Ultimatic. Another Gyromatic Production

All of this complexity just begs the question... I know the story of how Philco-Bendix patented everything about a washer/dryer and how if Whirlpool had bought them the world of laundry would have been much different. But it then begs the question, why didn't Sears just source a Kenmore...

    Kenmore (Roper) stove thermostat calibration

Someone mentioned that the sensor tube might be touching the wall of the oven and that could make the temperature inaccurate

    Kenmore (Roper) stove thermostat calibration

Now I have a question... I have the GE Artistry gas range and it may need a new thermostat, as I have adjusted the knob as far as it will go and it still runs cooler than it should, more than 50 degrees. I have found out that a new thermostat is more than $200 nearly half the cost of the...

How might you explain this? It seems to work well in a Home Economics classroom.

Dave, the guys I knew kept them on as long as they could tolerate it to create the "Impression"

    Wash Jeans in Shower

Eddie! Were you "showing off"? Actually it has been an issue in Hollywood. The Catholic League of Decency was concerned about "Batman" with both Batman and Robin wearing their Speedos, especially Robin. Eventually the producers just decided not to show those areas in most shots but that...

    Wash Jeans in Shower

But how many guys actually wear jeans without underwear, because if the are stiff, wouldn't they, as Howard Stern put it, be "chafing your nuts"?

    Wash Jeans in Shower

Actually, the idea of getting jeans in the shower was not to clean them, but make them kind of shrink so you had "tight jeans" back in the 70s as tight jeans were all the rage then. Also the same reason guys did not wear underwear under jeans, kind of to "make an impression".

    New Microwave!

Chetleham, your MW looks like... The one called General (but NOT General Electric) that consumer reports liked. It looks like a commercial oven but sold to consumers. Oh, and I think you need The Angry Mama on that splatted microwave...
