    Amana-Queen on life support

I find it hard to believe that the seal wouldn't be available as these are essentially regular SQ units that have been made available forever. I did look just for fun under the model number you provided and found this. Maybe another member can chime in if this is the correct kit or not...

    Whirlpool DD washer...decisions, decisions

I vote for the Kenmore as well, its a much nicer machine. If you didn't care which way the lid opens you could always swap the cabinets to put the nicer cabinet on the Kenmore.

SQ Experts: 2017 9 Series Dryer Overheating (Seriously)

No the heat should not kick on until the motor starts.

SQ Experts: 2017 9 Series Dryer Overheating (Seriously)

I'm curious if it is actually operating "normally" at the earlier timer markings, or if it is just because the load contains more moisture at that point that the heat hasn't built up yet. I'm kind of wondering if you might have a heating element that has grounded out to itself which would cause...

    No Gentle Speed Whirlpool Washer

Beautiful machine!! I agree my first thought is something is going on with the low speed in the motor windings.

Bought the Amana WTW4516 at Lowe's on clearance $200

I will say these machines aren't bad for what they are. If I couldn't get my hands on a Speed Queen, I would definitely go with one of these, as I think they are the best agitator model on the market. I've used a friends Maytag version a couple of times, and it did a super job washing.

    Hand Dishwashing

I know most of you probably have a nice dishwasher, but if you hand wash dishes are you one that leaves the water running constantly for rinsing, or do you fill a sink or basin with water?

Maytag 'Commercial' MVWP575GW Water use / long term issues

I looked at the Maytag as well when it first came out. Its a nice machine, but I ended up getting a TC5000 last October. II have absolutely NO regrets at all for choosing this machine. I also wanted quality and something that will last a long time and I feel I got that with the SQ. Washing...

    WANTED: Whirlpool Belt Drive Washer

John, do you have any pics of your 1985? I've been searching for an early 80's belt drive.

Direct drive electronic 90 series set

I LOVE these, my aunt and uncle used to have a set. The only thing that would make these better is it if was the 27" dryer design with top lint screen.

    Speed Queen AWN432 cleaning quality

I agree! I've wanted a Speed Queen for the past 25 years or so. I finally broke down and got a TC5 last October. I cannot tell you how great of a performer it is. I had items like pillowcases and such that I thought would never come clean, they came out of the Speed Queen looking brand new! I...

    Vintage Whirlpool Washer and Dryer

My grandma had that dryer. I'm surprised to learn its a 72 model, I always thought it was older than that. It still worked in 2004 when it was sold at the estate sale. I so wish I had my own place back then and was able to save it.

    Commercial Amana Microwave

My work breakroom has 2 of these microwaves dated from 1995. They have held up EXTREMELY well for being used in a retail store breakroom with over 200 employees. One has a noisy fan that has gotten worse over time, it makes a rough vibrating sound. Anyhow a coworker was using that particular...

Hotpoint RIM-Flo washer Speed Queen dryer!!

Wow, what a find! I've never seen a SQ dryer of that vintage before. I have a GE Filter Flo from 1977 that has the same panel styling, and control knob/font as yours so definitely from mid 70's.

    Your ONE-SIDED Wash Loads

I agree, how do you expect the clothes to come clean when the machine is dirty. Wipe down the bleach dispenser, lid opening and tub ring to remove all the crud. I usually do this to mine every month or so just so nothing gets built up. If you take care of your machine, it will take care of you!

    new adgitator washers

I agree the SQ TC5 "classic" is the only agitator washer that is worth anything on the market these days. I purchased one about a month go and LOVE it. It has gotten things clean that I thought were ruined. Embedded soil that my other washer just couldn't remove.

    SQ Poor rinsing

I remember hearing on here from several members that SQ's were terrible at rinsing. I have noticed in the short time I've had mine that nearly every load has a few items covered in white detergent residue. I use liquid Tide HE turbo so it really shouldn't be happening. The marks are removed in...

    Super surgilator hands down!

i couldn’t afford a new queen so i settled for second best

How awesome! What I wouldn't give to see the matching washer! I'm a sucker for nice electronic controls!

Proud new owner of a TC5!

Lets just say that its nice to be able to NOT have to presoak and scrub things by hand first. I did a huge load of sheets last night, and pillowcases that I thought were ruined looked brand new! Its so nice to have a "normal" old fashioned machine again.
