I have a 2015 electric GE dryer that overdries. I set it on less dry and clothes come out completely baked! Thinking it was also a fluke I've tried it several times, but same thing everytime, it bakes everything on less dry. I just run it for an hour now and I'm fine.

The only reason this one is so expensive is because its a "commercial" version made for on premise laundries. They also still make the traditional toploader inn this commercial version as well, although it only has one water level.

DId that dryer come from the same house as this washer did? Its too bad it needs multiple things, it is a neat old machine. I was amazed at how quiet it was could only hear the pump whooshing when it was running. Must be because of the skinny belt?

This is way too nice of a machine to give up on yet. I wouldn't think it would be anything major, but IMO I would just use the heavy duty setting. You get a fast spin plus more turnover in agitation, just use a shorter wash time.

I agree the Kenmore/whirlpool direct drives are easiest to work on. Not to many parts inside and everything is serviceable from the front once you get the cabinet off. Plus, its nice not to have any belts to worry about breaking or adjusting!

Hmm I didn't even think about the dispensers. They are probably just disconnected.

Wow, I've never seen one of this in this vintage, with the black control panel. You will be very happy with this machine. My grandpaents had the Kenmore version which was identical except it had a DA agitator. It did a great job.

I'm wanting to say I saw them around $2500 to $3000 but that was several years ago. I couldn't even imagine the amount of electricity to run a 30# let alone anything bigger. I've always wondered how the dry times compare between the electric and gas tumblers?

Awesome! Those Quantum toploaders are very nice machines! I've gotten to use one before. Just remember to select the Heavy soil setting and the machine will do a traditional cycle with a deep rinse. The light and Medium soil settings both just do a spray rinse.
