I guess it doesn't hurt to ask.....

What is odd about this auction, is the fact that seller specializes in vintage electronics. Therefor should know very well, that this price is "off the chain" Perhaps he is thinking about the old PT Barnum quote, "There's a sucker born every minute"

Norge "Dial n Heat" Dryer - Somers, CT - opening bid $49.99

Rick does not need this! I have four dryers hooked up, and running just fine. Three electric, and one gas. So thanks for looking out for me, but no thank you. If my friend ever gets the 58 Norge cabinet done, I will have a completed 58 Norge Timeline washer. I have to call him this weekend...

I guess it doesn't hurt to ask.....

That's a lot of money to ask for one of these. I purchased mine for $750.00 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Magnavox-Concert-Grand-Dual-Amplifier-Tube-Stereo-Console-Excellent-Condition-/223598761559?_trksid=p2385738.m4383.l4275.c10

    Another one bites the dust....

Sounds like that Frigidaire got on your last nerve. Yes, it really did! I was SO sick of messing with it! I did not smash it, or anything. I saved the parts I could use, and scrapped the rest. It was intact at the edge of the alley, but not for long. The scrap metal scavengers are "on it"...

    1955 Cadillac update

I owned a 1961 Coupe in the early 1980's. It was nicknamed "The Batmobile" for obvious reasons. I like the green on this 54. Transmission most likely needs overhauled. If it does not move, a band tightening is not going to do it.....

    1930 RCA Radiola Model 82

Beautiful radio! I love antique electronics, I believe these were marketed by Victor, and that is the reason that the electronics were manufactured by other manufactures. A friend of mine has the model with the phonograph in it. Do not know what brand the radio is, but the phonograph is an...

Saving a Unimatic - a Custom Imperial restoration

Great tutorial on the Unimatic Ben. The 1958's were always my favorite of the Frigidaire. I have replaced the bearing on one, and of course had to adjust the "frying pan" and replace the start capacitor, but that was as far into one, I ever got.

    1955 Cadillac update

Thanks Louis! My older brother had a 1955 Pontiac as his first car in 1968. It was a 4 door sedan, Chieftain. Nothing special, but I loved it! It was two toned, mint green and black. Thanks Ben! I was wondering, if you still had that 1959 Cadillac? Or perhaps it was Cory's car. I saw it when...

Records: The 1949 Format War Between Columbia (33-1/3) & RCA (45)

Interesting video, I watched it this morning. I have an large record collection, and just received an actual truck load of 78 rpm records. From the turn of the century to the late 1950's I am still "sorting"

    Another one bites the dust....

I was pissed off when I made the original post, for sure! With that being said, I am glad that I no longer have this project "on my plate" I do use my 1966 Custom Imperial weekly for towels, and love the way the drying time is cut due to the 1010 spin speed. So Robert, that is very true. Mine...

    Another one bites the dust....

I have not posted much in the last while, so many people do not even know me. And that is my own fault. I will try to post more often, and include some of the restorations of antique items I have restored. I retired early from my job, a few years ago, and since have become an antique dealer. So...

    1955 Cadillac update

Wayupnorth 1965,(PRNDL) when they came out with the Turbohydramatic. Prior to 1965 most GM cars had "REVERSE" at the bottom. The "PARK" position was added to the Hydramatic in 1956, when the redesigned Jetaway Hydramatic was introduced. 1955 on down do have a locking "PARK" although there is...

    60’ Maytag Set - Oregon

Kenny, Perhaps what they really mean is "these are the only ones existing with a broken lid, and leaking oil". Really, for $30.00 how could you go wrong?

    1955 Cadillac update

To EA56 Yes, the quality of the 1950's Cadillacs is outstanding. They are really constructed like tanks. They were comparable to a Rolls Royce back in the day. In fact Rolls used the Cadillac transmission up to the late 1970's. I do not know why Cadillac slipped so badly. In my opinion Cadillac...

    1955 Cadillac update

Thanks for the comments everyone! And Merry Christmas to all! The car was a solid white originally. The previous owner had the car repainted in 1976, and added two tone paint. Therefor the yellow is not original to the car. When these were two toned from the factory, they simply painted the roof...
