GE Profile Combo Washser/Dryer at KBIS 2023

Just a thought. You could have one of these and keep your dryer. Do the 1st load in the combo, take clothes and put in the dryer and start another load in the combo and let it go through the entire cycle. By the time the 1st load is dry the second load would be drying in the the combo. Jon

    Neptune fireworks

I don't know if this will help here but maybe. For the last 10 years when I have an appliance that gets plugged and unplugged on a regular basis I put a flat triple socket 3 prong adapter into the outlet. When unplugging it gives you a spot to put your finger or to hold with the other hand to...

Have you seen these portable washing machines??

Had a Norge twin tub back in the late 70's that was used for a few years when living in an apartment with out hook up. Hung clothes out on the back porch and they dried in a couple of hours after the high spin speed. Great little machine. The impeller was on the bottom and had great turn over. Jon

Not So Fast re: "Banning" Gas Stoves

Electric not always safe. In a city not far away from me they had a large surge of power and several houses had massive fires in them. Some totaled the house but all needed fire department response. The least will be all electric wires will need to be replaced in these houses. Things can happen...

Appliances: The Future is Battery Powered

Wind Power A number of years ago there was a man who invented a wind generator. This was a small unit that looked like a turbo for a large diesel engine. This was mounted on a pole installed near the house. It was almost silent while working. This could rotate to which ever way the wind was...

    2018 Speed Queen topload models

I normally do a 2nd rinse on every load. Newer washer has a gray water rinse, so after the cycle is finished it gets restarted in the rinse and spin cycle. Takes a while longer but the clothes are rinsed nicely. Seems to be a waste of water but with no spin after washing it is necessary. Jon

Can someone explain to me how auto-dry works on my particular dryer?

I have stopped using the auto dry cycle on my dryer. A load of towels would go for a hour and a half to almost two hours to dry. Timed cycle set for 1 hour and they are done. Same with clothes. Cut the drying time to one half what the auto cycle would do. Noticed a drop in my electric bill doing...

    Gas smell in oven

I guess a good way to start is to use a spray bottle with soapy water and spray the connector of the gas main on the rear of the stove. If it is leaking you will see small bubbles coming off of it. Don't know if you have a flex line connected, but sometimes over age they can also spring a small...

    Movies with Appliances Being Used

Watching an episode of Ghost the other night and Hetty the ghost lady of the house is sitting on top of a center dial Maytag with a snubber I guess was broken, enjoying the vibrations of the machine during the spin cycle. Jon

Never used Frigidaire Cust Imp Wall Oven $650 Listed 4 weeks ago in Elizabethton, TN

That oven certainly looks used. Check the runners that the racks sit on. The enamel has been worn off from use, unless someone used it as storage and accessed it often. Jon
