    Caloric

I once asked what company manufactured ModernMaid ranges for Raytheon and I got a reply that Caloric did and in the reply (or one of them), someone mentioned that the brand may soon resurface. Anyone of you got any info to that effect?

    Huebsch leaking!

Water on the floor... checked behind the machine and everythin' "seemed" dry. "Shit my Huebsch is leaking"... I was pi**ed off... False alarm, it was the cold inlet hose. This is just a reminder to you all. Follow the manufactures instructions and change your hoses every 5 years. And don't think...

found this on the net 5 Extinct Appliance Brands That Died Too Soon Caloric Why we loved it: Caloric Corporation existed as the Klein Stove Company out of Philadelphia from 1883, until the Caloric brand was introduced in 1903. The company gained fame in the 1950s and 60s for offering a full...

    Wells Laundromat

What are your memories of going to any Laundromat? ... a pain for me. Not having a car back then... going by bike/foot/bus was a pain in the a**. Once I got a car it was nice. It's the waiting that killed me. Best advantage... could wash/dry/fold 5 loads in less than 1 and 1/2 hour.

New Speed Queen Top Loader; what re rinse cycle Temp. options?

Rince temp I read this post diagonally and if someone mentioned it before... sorry ... but do no invert in cold/hot inlet. You'll end up with a flimsy spray rince due to the hot water restrictor since spray rinces are cold (spray rince could already be longer/better than what it is now) and...

New SQ TL 542: Just One Thing

Great suggestions-- Yes... baking soda was what I meant. I guess baking powder would also do the trick... but it would make you look waaaaay too fancy. But then again... to each load it's recipe :)

New SQ TL 542: Just One Thing

New SQ TL 542: Just One Thing

Forget the load size... Cont'd P"S": By the way, though very little discussed on this forum... Backing powder is one of the most unexpencive detergent booster on the market. It augments water's fluidity making more water move through the clothes.

New SQ TL 542: Just One Thing

Forget the load size... This will always happen when washing THICK towels. During the spin cycle, the centrifugal force that forces water through that type of fabric (especially 100% cotton) will create froth with any remaining detergent (even very small) in the towels (I beleive the problem...

2015 Speed Queens with Electronic Controls

Hope you're right. 'Was comparing with the 2013 chart on the left. So 9 gallons of spray rince would mean this is would be the next rince cycle? No deep rince?

2015 Speed Queens with Electronic Controls

Fear of what's to come... (continued) What bugs me from the pics shown in another post is the 9 gallons of water required for rinsing implemented on Alliance TL wahers for 2015 and 4 gallons for 2018! Is the infamous gray rinse unavoiable? If so, hope there will be a minute long spray rinse...

2015 Speed Queens with Electronic Controls

Fear of what's to come... Electronic control does not mean the machine will have computer programing and motherboard that are expensive to replace and are the cause of so many failures in todays machines. I think a lot of people matches the 2. If you flick on a light by pushing an electronic...
