    Rescued KUDS25 Dishwasher

What a nice find and a great restoration. I've always like the 24 and 25 series, I hope to snag a Superba model one of these days. Are the silverware baskets the original ones to the machine, they look exactly like the ones that were in my Grandmas Point Voyager based Maytag. Kinda...

Pink Frigidaire sink combo with a spin tube dishwasher.

Available in Salina KS. Seller says it doesn’t work, but it I’m sure it could be brought back easily enough. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2686040984871566/?mibextid=6ojiHh

    Cascade Professional

Yes its phosphate free l, Boil out is discontinued now as well. I guess the real question is does the Professional product have any more Oomph than the stuff you can get at the store.

    Cascade Professional

Is there any difference between the current Cascade Professional and the consumer grade Cascade you can get at the store? https://pgpro.com/en-us/brands/cascade-professional/automatic-dishwashing-detergent

Top three small appliance or kitchen gadget...

I forgot about the ice cream maker. My grandma actually had one, not this one but a similar unit . I think she said it was a wedding gift. Hers had a broken gear in the arm. These seem to come pretty often in thrift stores and garage sales, I got the electronic motor unit and have pieced...

Top three small appliance or kitchen gadget...

I use my Oster Kitchen Center almost every day. It’s nice to have one motor and then use the various attachments as necessary.

    It’s Twin Tub time!

Thank you for the suggestion, that’s kinda what I figured out. I stopped it, saturated the load, then respun it out. 3 times seemed to rinse pretty well. I’ll have to watch my spin times or take things to a dryer, things were pretty wrinkled coming out. I got this beast out and used it, but I...

    It’s Twin Tub time!

Well I’ve only used it once so I’m still figuring out my technique. It didn’t come with the fresh water hose, though I’m sure it won’t be hard to rig something up. I did put a funnel in the port on the spin side and pour half a gallon of water for a spray rinse.

    It’s Twin Tub time!

The apartment I currently reside in does not have a washer and dryer hook up, so it’s been Laundromat life for me. I’ve been looking for a portable one to use, but it seems they either command a premium or it’s too big to bring home. Anwyays, I finally found a twin tub for a reasonable price...

Well at least it's New Old Stock

It's always amazing that there are treasures like this still out there waiting to be found. Glad it was able to go to home that is able to appreciate it! Just an FYI on upgrading the pump, I upgraded my porcelain tank Ultra Wash to a second revision power clean pump and added the quiet tuned...

    Hytron Detergent.

I did get this from UnoClean, just FYI. Not that it's a huge deal breaker but I was a bit disappointed by the smell. It didn't really have that nice "bleachy" smell, especially compared to Boil Out. As far as the stains go, it did break some of them up but there was a lot left behind as well...

    Hytron Detergent.

Thought I’d give this Hytron a try. I drink a lot of iced tea so always on the look for something that can help with tea stains. Have a load going through the Ultra Wash now with so will report on performance. Has anyone else have experience with Hytron?

    The Reverse Rack rides again.

Yes these have a full size arm on the top and the bottom. But that’s where the reverse rack logic comes into play, you would have to load the top rack in the way that all items can be cleaned from the top down by the wash arm on the roof of the machine.

    The Reverse Rack rides again.

So it looks like Hobart has created an add on for its under counter machines that basically use the old Maytag Reverse logic of plates on top and glasses on bottom. Of course there’s no center tower to spray up so one would need to follow the logic for this to work. It’s not a bad idea but you...

    POD 7/9/22: a quiet Tappan dishwasher…

Look familiar? I guess to each there own but I find this to be an excellent dishwasher!

    POD 7/9/22: a quiet Tappan dishwasher…

I think one factor that influenced the noise level of vintage machines is the tank material . Many older units used porcelain on steel. I don't have scientific evidence, but porcelain tanks machines seem to be louder. I recently had two Power Clean dishwashers in my kitchen, one an older...

    Sloppy Customers

No it’s not the end of the world but it’s like this everyday almost, we clean it up and few hours later it doesn’t look like we did anything. And most of our guests are great but there’s a percentage of them that show absolutely no regard for other guest or our property. Just this week someone...

    Sloppy Customers

We have a few coin op washers in our hotel. It never ceases to amaze me how customers can manage to spill more detergent down the front of the machine than they get into it. And not to mention the general state of this room, with trash and dirt everywhere. (We clean it, it just gets trashed...
