Reviews and thoughts on new Whirlpool removable agitator washer

I haven’t used one but I agree that it’s silly. Having an auger is pointless without a ratcheting mechanism. Offering a straight vane one would have made more sense. I have a feeling most consumers will probably just leave it in and not take it out, if they didn’t want it they probably would...

Bizarre results from Powerclean module switchover…need pointers

Well maybe you need to check that the middle wash arm itself isn’t damaged or clogged.

    Advice with coffee/tea stains

I was going to start a similar thread…I don’t really drink much coffee but I always have a glass of iced tea sitting around. My Bosch could clean out the tea pitcher, the filter basket and the cups I use to Like new condition, in fact I was quite shocked when I first started using it. The...

Bizarre results from Powerclean module switchover…need pointers

My Ultra Wash has been having issues with under filling…this is an older unit that fills with the pump running. You can hear the pump cavitating, though it eventually does stop. That being said it’s still under filling by .5 to .75 gallons. The point being is that the only way to really know is...

Bizarre results from Powerclean module switchover…need pointers

I’ve taken both styles apart, they are same other than the outlet manifold. I would start by making sure it’s not under filling. Power cleans are very sensitive to underfilling. A full fill is 2.2 gallons. I don’t believe they lowered the fill level for the later machines, the service...

    Westinghouse set. Yay or Nay

My neighbor back home had a similar set…I believe these have the Franklin mechanism, so heavily indexing tub and probably a straight vane agitator. Are you going to daily drive these or is this more just for fun?

Thoughts on new Whirlpool Dual Power Filtration dishwashers

Alternate wash arms The point of the alternating wash arms is to maintain adequate pressure while reducing water usage. If you look at the cycle charts for the dual power dishwasher the normal cycle shows an average time of 2.15 hours with an average water usage of 2.4 gallons. Heavy/tough is...

Hydro sweep or thunderbolt wash arm

Does anyone have a thunderbolt arm or a hydro sweep arm (or both!) for a power clean II pump, with the cover for the filter and holes on the underside to back wash the filter? Thank you Cameron

    GE Potscrubber III

These older Potscrubber III models don’t really show up that often, curious to know what features your 900 does or does not have. Mine has the steel frame around the tub, the multi orbit system, power tower, power shower, the self cleaning filtration, GEs super racks, as well as a push to start...

    Got new Samsung dw80r7061us cheap!

From the description it does look like it’s a wash arm model and not one of the silly water wall models. I probably would have passed on that.

A detailed look at the Power Clean

Wash impeller installed. So what happens here is the water goes into the bottom of the pump, it is pulled up first through the chopper and then into the wash impeller. As the impeller throws the water is goes up the walls of the pump chamber. When it gets to the top it goes over the wall, the...

A detailed look at the Power Clean

The pumping chamber without the wash impeller, the separation trough around it and the soil collection chamber around that. This is a second revision power clean, the first revision was basically the same other than the soil collection chamber itself.

A detailed look at the Power Clean

Drain cover and chopper assembly. The sizing plate for the chopper is attached to the soil separator. The entrance to the drain impeller is through the soil separator , you can see where the hole in the bottom of the separator chamber will line up with the top of the cover. The other little...

A detailed look at the Power Clean

In case anyone wanted to see the inner workings of power clean pump. Being as reliable as they are you don’t seen them disassembled often. Here is the motor and the base of the pump. The channel at the bottom is the drain channel. You can see the tuned sound absorber. It unscrews to make it...

    A moment of weakness…

I did get the correct faucet adapter, Menards wound up not having what I needed but I was able to get it from Ace. I did not testing and I did notice that it seems to be under filling quite a bit. I removed the restrictor in the faucet adapter, but it's still only getting about 1.75 gallons...

    Porcelain repair.

Any tips on a porcelain chip repair? I was just going to use some water weld over the spot. There doesn’t appear to be any rust or bubbling.
