    Persil and residue

As I can't stand the smell of Persil, I save my bottle of it for cleaning rags which always come out feeling a bit soapy and sticky. Not sure if a second rinse would change that.

Anyone looking for the old scented Downy april fresh

Non Concentrated Is exactly the stuff I posted about. Sure smells powdery to me. Certainly not the sweet awful stuff they put in the new bottles.

Anyone looking for the old scented Downy april fresh

You CAN still get the old April Fresh... ...And buy it in a Downy bottle. I noticed the older style bottle (without the flower cap) at my local Walmart and decided to give it one more try. I was surprised when I smelled my laundry at the end of the wash... Just the scent I was looking for!

    VMW shredding laundry?

Update... I had dismissed this issue for a while until I noticed one of my favorite shirts came out of the wash with a gash in it. This was not there before... I normally notice a tiny pinhole here or there, but this is new. Its a clean cut right across the fibers, about 1/4 of an inch. I...

FREE 1967 Maytag washer and electric dryer

And I wish I had a place to put them.

    Fabric Softener Scents

I remember a very distinctive scent from our washer we had as a kid which I think was from fabric softener use. I still notice the scent here and there which makes me think it might still be used in some laundry product... are there any brands that haven't overhauled their scents recently like...

Why were really old Whirlpools (50s-60s) branded RCA Whirlpool?

During what time period were RCA appliances simply rebadged GE's?

    Tide Cold Water question

I am interested to hear if the results continue to be promising. Just bought some Tide Mountain Spring, but would be interested to try ColdWater after this bottle is done.

    Trial Size Detergents

What happened to those little bottles/boxes of detergent that wash a couple loads of laundry? I remember seeing them offered in stores in various brands and scents years ago. Now I'm only able to find Tide and Gain. I'd like to find the others so I don't end up with a stockpile of detergent when...

What do people think of the new Persil available in USA?

I have to agree that at least part of the problem is in the "different" type of scents. Most people like the stronger sweeter Gain or the fruity Tide or the fresh Arm & Hammer. Persil is kind of in its own category. I think the real issue is that people don't think twice about doing laundry...

What do people think of the new Persil available in USA?

Fresh Linen... Has anyone tried the fresh linen scent? I can't seem to find it around here, but it sounds like a scent that I might like better than the original or intense fresh.

Kenmore Oasis h.e. washer knocking noise.....?

From what I can remember about the lid locks on these, you should be able to hold a magnet over the mechanism and grab the little tab that pops out when you push start, then press it in a bit. That should fool it.

GE stacked TL Washer/Dryer on vacation

$$ These stacked units are regularly over $1000... quite a bit more expensive than they used to be. I was looking at old advertisements from the early 2000's, and the Frigidaire units used to go for ~$700! Interestingly enough, many of the top loaders in those ads were between $300-550, which...

What do people think of the new Persil available in USA?

Scent... I took my old bottle of Persil off the shelf the other day to wash some whites. Surprisingly I thought the scent was pleasant and tolerable when I walked back into the laundry room during the wash cycle. Maybe it was the smaller dosage. The problem seems to be when my laundry dries...

    Neutral Drains...

I was always under the impression that spin drainers sent lint, grass, etc over the wash tub to drain away rather than let it settle in the tub. It has been many years since I have used one.

    Neutral Drains...

I'm sure this topic was brought up many times on this forum. I washed bathroom rugs today only to find a tub full of lint! Seems that neutral drains are no good for very linty wash loads. Do neutral drains have any advantages? I have heard many say that they don't filter dirt through the clothes...

    New GE(General Electric) agitator washer!

Their higher end (looks like its only the GTW810 now) top loader has a rotor/stator motor. I would consider one of these agipeller machines if a higher end model with the rotor/stator motor were offered, similar to the old oasis/cabrio design. The cheaper models are just too grindy sounding!

    New GE(General Electric) agitator washer!

I was at first skeptical because it looks so similar to the GTW680, which is an impeller machine. The parts diagram for this washer does indeed specify an agipeller. I'm surprised that Haier isn't switching everything over to their design.

I just fell in love with impellar washers!

I've noticed that the guy making those videos always selects a small load of laundry and a high water level. This exaggerates the wash action. I'd really like to see more realistic selections on these machines to see how they do in everyday use... most people wait to wash larger loads and don't...

Are whirlpool gas ranges any good?

A note on Frigidaire ranges... At least on the cheaper models, the oven doors slam shut. I don't know why they loaded them up with that much spring force. I also have to agree with the whole range getting hot when the oven is on, but mine doesn't seal all the way. For what it's worth, my range...
