    How BIG is Samsung?

Hmm, it is interesting, I just don't think Samsung is this great company people claim. The quality of their products is very average. Speak to most sales assistance at electronic or home appliance stores and they say "style over substance". Samsung sell their products heavily on advertising...

    Which new FL to get???

Well, those findings don't ring true here in Europe where LG products are relatively very average in terms of build quality and reliability. Which? magazine is completely unbiased, their findings are based on verified buyers and warranty company claims. I don't know, maybe they have suddenly...

    TL vs FL washer

It is surprising to hear that some Fl washers in North America don't have heating elements for the water. Heating elements in modern washers are more efficient and more durable than they used to be. Most European machine these days are cold fill only, however, EBAC, the British washer...

    Which new FL to get???

My money would be on the SQ. I personally do not trust these Korean brands like I would more domestic US, German or even British brands (of what we have left). Since reaching about buying a front loader myself, too many people have said that LG and especially Samsung machine are much of a...

    Spin Speeds

My Bosch Serie 6 is a 1400 spin 8kg drum and the clothes come out noticeably drier than my previous Hotpoint Aquiltis which had a 1200 spin, but didn't spin for as long.

    Japanese toploading washer dryer !

Hmm. My dad went there a few years ago, Chongqing or something like that, soon after coming from Nagasaki in Japan and he said the difference in the people, the country itself is startling. Not being funny and I don't mean to be rude but he portrayed China to be a bit of a dump :/ Judging by...

    Japanese toploading washer dryer !

So I had a few Japanese friends round mine recently before they head off back to Japan for study leave, and other than they usual affair of chilling out, playing xbox, going out for dinner and so on, we got onto the subject about washing. I asked them what washing in Japan is like and to my...

Good Ideas Twin Tub Washing Machine

Hmm, disappointing for Bosch, but probably just bad luck. Bosch make quality, well made reliable products, and their washers score second to Miele on dependability according to Which? magazine. I have just got a Serie 6 washer which looks similar to this, only with a larger digital display and...

Trying to understand the programs onmy Bosch washing machine

But I don't see what the point of it is? I cant see how it saves energy or how it protects the machine in anyway, and no, there is nothing in the instructions regarding it, but it is there for a reason otherwise Bosch wouldn't have made it that way. Explanations of the programs are on a...

Trying to understand the programs onmy Bosch washing machine

Thank for your help guys! Looks like cottons is the best program for normal sort of everyday clothes. Bosch states it is suitable for cottons and hardwearing textiles and heat resistant textiles made from cottons or linen. The program take 2 hours and 45 minutes to compete using 87 litres of...

Trying to understand the programs onmy Bosch washing machine

Thank you guys! @logixx; Yes, I found this literally after I posted this thread :3 This has helped me to understand these programs. It is a very extensive program set up, really quite impressed. I also found out the "down" program is for machine washable items such as quilts and pillows. So...

Trying to understand the programs onmy Bosch washing machine

Don't think I have mentioned this yet, but I have a new Bosch Serie 6 washing machine :P It is a very good machine and I am very happy with it. But, since my Hotpoint aquiltis, which had nearly all different programs, I am trying to get my head around the new set of programs Bosch have tuned...

An important thread - What type of detergent; powder or liquid ?

Well, I don't have a preference per say, just wanted a little bit of advice on which is better to use, which will keep my clothes cleaner. I wouldn't call this a debate, just some people who know more about this stuff than me giving me advice, that's all :)

An important thread - What type of detergent; powder or liquid ?

Fair enough. According to "which?" magazine, Persil washing powder is the best you can get, joint with Arial bio powder, but the persil is higher rated as its around 8 pence per wash cheaper than the Ariel. The powders got up to 91%, the best liquid only got up to 80%.

An important thread - What type of detergent; powder or liquid ?

Haha, I understand. Some programs seem to take far longer than they should, but I think that is down to the so called energy efficiency. Washing with less water and heat, but to get consistent results, the programs need to last longer. I will say though that the mixed load standard 40 degree...

An important thread - What type of detergent; powder or liquid ?

Fair enough hotpointfan. Powder it is for me! May as well use up these tablets then go and get a huge crate of powder, like the 110 wash one or something. I love buying in bulk as it is always quite a bit cheaper in the long run. henene4; Yes, someone else did. EBAC said they had cooperated...

An important thread - What type of detergent; powder or liquid ?

Hmm, well maybe in the UK. I don't know, its tricky to say. Nearly everyone I know uses powder but here is such a variety of liquitabs and liqids it makes me wonder. I think it is probably 50/50. I would think powder has more cleaning properties as it has bleaches and bicarbonate soda which is...
