    Cleaning a Crock Pot

Yeah. I have no idea if the lid has been put in the dishwasher. Actually, this is the first I've seen this Crock Pot. I have no idea what kind of treatment (or mistreatment) it's received over the years.

    Cleaning a Crock Pot

Thank you. I'll definitely try the Simple Green. I didn't even bother to ask about the cloudy plastic lid. Short of some sort of polish, which I don't have, I figured there's no way I'm getting it clear. And, I don't even know if polish would work.

    Cleaning a Crock Pot

Hey all. Because I have an affection for older appliances, a family member has requested that I try to clean up their somewhat vintage Rival Crock Pot. I'm guessing it's probably 1990s. I tried an interweb search, and all I could find was cleaning tips for the crock itself, or how to clean...

    Proctor-Silex drip coffee maker

New question Hey all, Well, I was lucky enough to find a correct carafe for this coffee maker. I got one for $4.99 at a thrift store, instead of $20-$25 online. Granted, it's used, but it's in very good condition. However, unlike the older carafe that came with the machine, the correct one...

    Washing sheets

Hey. I just saw a commercial with the Pooph! guy for some brand of these things. Not that that has anything to do with this conversation. I'm just saying. Edit: The brand was Earth Breeze, if anyone cares.[this post was last edited: 2/5/2023-14:16]

    Getting odors out of clothing

Interesting about the Pooph. I've seen the commercials, but you're the first person I've heard from who's actually tried it. I'm definitely going to try some of these other suggestions first, since I already have some of the products on hand. It's just a matter of bringing a goody box over there...

Did most Maytag generations look older than they were? If so, what years/decades did they fit more?

I love center dial Maytags. I've never owned or even used one, but I love the look. I know it's apples to oranges, but; the same could be said of Maytag's wringer washers. I have two J2Ls sitting in the laundry room. One is a 1966, and the other is a 1947. And, aside from the logo design, and...

Dryer panel pic posted. Which probable model? Need a part.

Ours does look more like the second one in Dan's post.

Dryer panel pic posted. Which probable model? Need a part.

I was going to try to help, since that appears to be the same dryer that we have. However, the only number that I can find on our lint filter appears to be 693846. That being said, this dryer came with the house. So, I have no idea if this is the original filter, or if it's been replaced with an...

    Sarah's House discouragement

Sarah, I know it's easier said than done, but please try not to get discouraged. It's a very pretty house. And, your current home looks absolutely beautiful. Once you're able to work your magic on the new place, I'm sure it will be beautiful too! 🙂 Barry

    Mystery Slide-In Range

Here you go, Don. Sorry it's not a better picture. The markings on our stovetop don't seem to be as pronounced as on the other one. And, I kept getting a lot of reflections and stuff. Please ignore the fact that it needs cleaning!

    Mystery Slide-In Range

The burner layout is essentially identical to our GE. And, ours has a GE logo in the same location as that "C1" logo. The style of the handles is different, as is the layout of the control panel. But, could it be something made by GE for the Canadian market? Barry

    Getting odors out of clothing

I'm thinking that the next time I go over, especially if I know I'll be doing laundry, I'll probably bring supplies from home with me; as well as some of the additives that have been suggested here.

    Getting odors out of clothing

I'm doing the laundry at their house, using their products, and I don't do it all the time, so I'm not 100% sure I remember. But, I believe it was Gain liquid.

    Getting odors out of clothing

Thanks, Rich. We also have baking soda. So, I already have at least a couple of things to try. I appreciate it!

    Getting odors out of clothing

Jamie, Now that you mention it, I wonder if Lysol Sanitizer would help. I don't know if it does anything for odor. And, I do have some Borax. I can try that next time.

    Getting odors out of clothing

Hi all. I know this has been discussed, probably at great length. But, I'm having trouble finding the answers that I need by doing a search. So, I figured I'd just ask. I find myself in a position where I occasionally do the laundry for an elderly family member. Despite wearing protective...

    Proctor-Silex drip coffee maker

Okay. Tested and confirmed; the warming plate definitely gets hot. I guess it's just a matter of waiting to find a correct carafe. It does seem like a nice coffee maker! Thanks again for the replies! Barry

    Proctor-Silex drip coffee maker

Thanks, Eddie! The base of this carafe definitely sits flat on the warmer, even though it's not exactly the same shape carafe as the correct one. I'm keeping my eyes open for one at a thrift store. No luck yet. But, it seems to be a popular coffee maker, so maybe. I can find them all day long on...

    Proctor-Silex drip coffee maker

Thanks, Tom! The correct carafe is definitely taller than this one. But, I do have the cover for this carafe. It's on in the picture, but you can't really see it. That's such a good idea to put something between the carafe and the warmer, too see if it's actually working, or if the heat from the...
