    Part number help

Huh. That's interesting. I was certain I got the information about the manufacturer from fellow members here. It basically looks like the Speed Queen from the same era, and I was told that they were both built by Raytheon at the time. I guess the serial number doesn't lie though.

    Part number help

Hi all. You've helped me with this very thing before. But, I apologize, I've misplaced the information. I have an Amana washer, built by Raytheon. Model No. ALW432RAW Serial No. 11395196AP It's still running, and doing our weekly laundry. But, the infamous seal/bearing issue is there. It...

    Whirlpool DD Pair

I wish that was closer! That washer looks like it would be a great match for our gas dryer. And our Raytheon Amana's days are numbered. I can't make out the panel markings. Would there be a warm rinse option on this washer? I don't think I've ever seen that on a Whirlpool branded machine from...

Manual for K-Mart "Party Pop" WTB

I know it's a very long shot. But, you never know. At a thrift store, I recently picked up a late '70s/early '80s corn popper. It appears to be a West Bend Stir Crazy, but rebranded for K-mart. As far as I can tell, it's brand new, in an opened box. Unfortunately, the instruction manual is...

    Latest addition to the family

Nice find! I hope you can get it sorted out. Lawrence, You beat me to it. I too was impressed with the receipt, and especially the handwriting! Barry

    When did P&G fabric softeners....

I know I'm kind of late to the party, but I'll offer my two cents. (If it's worth that much) I still use fabric softener. I'm no spring chicken, so it may be out of tradition or something. But, probably also out of tradition, I still use the brands that I grew up with. I keep on hand, a bottle...

    Cleaning a Poly Perk

Rich, Poly Perk is a line of percolators made by Regal. I'm no expert on them, but I believe they probably came out in the late '60s/early '70s. Some were also branded for Sears. They're made of plastic, with some aluminum internal parts. As infrequently as I use them, I'm not too concerned...

    Cleaning a Poly Perk

Hi all. I don't know if anyone can help me with this. I know some of you collect percolators. Out of those collectors, some probably own a Poly Perk or two. Out of those, perhaps you've encountered this problem. A recently acquired Poly Perk has a sort of musty smell; presumably, from wherever...

Getting rid of weeds clover in the lawn, tips please!

Derek, Your yard sounds a lot like ours. Also a half acre. Also, comprised mostly of weeds. Granted, mowing is about the only thing we do by way of maintenance. I've never felt the need to have a perfect lawn. Most lawns in our neighborhood are pretty close to perfect though. Ours is...

Magnavox Stereo/ AM FM Radio Turntable

Richard, That's a nice looking unit. I hope you're able to find someone to give it some love. I have a 1960s console stereo that belonged to my parents. Some time in probably the mid to late 1970s, they had the outer cabinet customized to match their colonial style furniture. After some abuse...

    recent large Volkswagens-2015 up

I can't speak for the newer ones, but we've been driving a 2001 Passat for a few years now, and I like it way more than I ever expected to. It has the 1.8 turbo four cylinder, and an automatic. Now, at 20 years old, the New England weather is taking its toll. And it has a few "quirks". The power...

Does anyone like old street lights?

I'm not up on types of street lights like some of you are. I couldn't tell you what kind our town had when we first moved here. But, within the last couple of years, the town has been replacing them with LED. Bottom line, they give off light, which is better than having no street lights, I...

2 Maytag washers, LK dryer cheap

Still listed I'm guessing you didn't have any luck working with the owner of these, since I see that the listing is still up. I'm almost tempted to contact them, just to see what they say. But, I guess then I'd be playing games, since I'm not in a position to take them. So, I'll refrain. Barry

    Percolator/coffee maker collection

Hi Jerry Sorry, I can't answer that question. Maybe someone else has more knowledge on the subject. For me personally, I use mine so infrequently, I choose to just enjoy it and not worry about it. I worry about too many things as it is. Barry

    Percolator/coffee maker collection

Nice little collection, Adam. I have a couple of Poly Perks myself. One "full size" in beige, and a smaller one that's part of a travel set. It comes with plastic cups, and it's all in its own little vinyl travel bag. I also have a few of the "hot pots" that look like the small percolator, but...

Two vintage Maytag washers, look like higher end? One vintage Lady Kenmore dryer. Sounds like they just want them gone. https://westernmass.craigslist.org/app/d/chicopee-knmoore/7312667164.html

thought i was done collecting until i saw this!!!!!!

Congratulations, Peter! That's similar to the first dishwasher my parents owned. Theirs was coppertone too, but probably late '70s/early '80s. It had the removable cutting board top too. Just a slightly different design to the control panel. And the detergent dispenser was a little different, if...
