Why do all newer transmission made Speed Queens low speed spin drain after main wash?

Reply# 87 You are correct, the spin after the main wash is done at low speed when the PP/HD cycle is selected. It isn't until the final rinse when the spin is done at high speed, whether or not an extra rinse is selected. I fail to understand why an initial low speed spin would be an issue...

Modern washer the fills all the way

fabric wear I used a 2000 model year Maytag top loader until just last month and never noticed any appreciable fabric wear from using it, most likely because 90% of laundry loads were washed with the water level set at maximum. I recently placed into service a 2018 Speed Queen LWN432SP115TW01...

Why do all newer transmission made Speed Queens low speed spin drain after main wash?

Re: reply #66 I stand corrected on my SQ's spin speed as I stated. After re-consulting the timer matrix on my machine (LWN432SP115TW01) slow speed spin only occurs after the initial wash event, with spray rinse occurring 2 minutes thereafter. After the initial rinse event has completed, the...

You pay for what you get...

Re: reply# 6 Thanks for the clarification, did this design initiate using suspension rods to suspend the wash tub? Assuming that the tub can hold 20 gallons of water, what possible logic is there in suspending a container weighing 166 lbs? Not much logic at all, I'd say.

You pay for what you get...

no doubt in my mind Perhaps so, but I would not want to undergo the inconvenience of having to routinely replace 4 washing machines in 20 years or so, having to physically go to a BestBuy store, loading it into my truck, then unloading and installing it into my home. Ditto if it were to be...

You pay for what you get...

Geez! That is exactly why I rebuilt this 2018 Speed Queen to replace my irreparable 24 year old Maytag, I refuse to get caught up in the "disposable" syndrome so many appliance manufacturers now insist the public to accept. Appliances such as refrigerators and those for laundering may be...

Truly a "disposable" washing machine, my local BestBuy store wants $490 for it...thanks but no thanks!

History of Haier and their purchase of GE appliances

build quality My Brother bought a new GE washing machine sometime in late 2022, exactly 1 year and 5 days after he registered it on GE's warranty site, it's drive motor went bad. He asked GE for some sort of warranty consideration, they refused to offer any sort of assistance, the machine was...

Why do all newer transmission made Speed Queens low speed spin drain after main wash?

spray rinse According to the timer chart on my 2018 LWN432SP115TW01, when the reg/perm-press cycle is selected, the spin and spray event happens about 2/3rd. of the total time of the initial main wash spin event. This spin event, according to the chart lasts just 6 minutes and the motor is run...

Look at what's in the kitchen

'60's The interior appointments and finishes of this house don't whisper '60's, rather they scream it at you instead. Accessibility into the structure appears to be excellent, however the left side door (which presumably leads into the kitchen) is a bit odd design wise. A home such as this...

History of Haier and their purchase of GE appliances

copying things The Datsun (Nissan) line of L series inline cylinder motors were virtual carbon copies of the famed Mercedes-Benz line of overhead camshaft designed engines. These included the L16/L20 4 cyl and L24 6 cyl Datsun powerplants which were found in thousands of 510 sedans and Datsun...

History of Haier and their purchase of GE appliances

Never... will I buy a GE major appliance since they got bought out by the "Pakes" (Haier), the once proud marque now represents absolute garbage. It's bad enough already where I inevitably have to give them my $$, I well intend not to contribute further to that fact. Ditto for Maytag...

First time I've ever called a plumber

Delta... Glad to see that he installed a Delta kitchen faucet, they are easy to work on, durable and parts are readily available. Speaking of parts, Delta has a lifetime warranty on certain parts, the cartridge/stems being one of them, be sure to keep your receipts, you may need to provide...

Tyler and Todd’s new kitchen appliances

lots of problems Sound advice, after all the problems I had with my Whirlpool french door fridge which had water and ice service through the door, I vowed that I would never buy another french door fridge with an ice maker in the fridge section. To it's credit however, the ice maker was...

Tyler and Todd’s new kitchen appliances

Korean Most definitely "Samsuck", a pity because all my consumer electronic devices are from them of which I've had good results. On a side note, if the Japanese were to make inroads into the American appliance landscape, I'd buy a fridge from them in a heartbeat.

just recommended to my dad the speed queen huebsch tc5 washer dryer set

whirlpool made maytag This is exactly why I recently "refreshed" this 2018 Speed Queen top load washer, as I absolutely refuse to buy any new Whirlpool or GE washing machine. This particular machine would be, I assume the "Daddy" of the present day SQ TC5, however it does not have any...

Tyler and Todd’s new kitchen appliances

The white looks so much nicer Indeed they are, however white kitchen appliances very hard to find in today's appliance market, for some reason all the major kitchen appliance manufacturers love to push the stainless steel "look", which I find very passee. Don't get me started about the...

just recommended to my dad the speed queen huebsch tc5 washer dryer set

recommended I agree with your recommendation of a TC5 washing machine, however I've heard reports that SQ dryers are known to scorch clothing and are pricey. If appliance matching is not a concern, I recommend an entry level Whirlpool dryer, the Amana NED4655EW comes to mind.
