    Which dishwasher gel to use?

I had a Maytag very similar to yours.  The PowerBlast cycle always did 4 rinses whereas Auto varied between 3 rinses and sometimes just a purge and a rinse, depending on the sensed soil level and options selected.  Thorough rinsing is thought to help prevent etching.   Are you loading the...

Can you identify this KA dishwasher?

Yes the KDS-18 has no thermostatic timer hold, except for the sani rinse, which is static heated to 180 ºF with its 1,400-Watt heating power and then the circulation temp ends up being around 70 ºC / 158 ºF in my tests.  That's hotter than my WP PowerClean, which typically heats the final rinse...

    Which dishwasher gel to use?

Cascade Complete gel is enzyme based (dark green bottle). Cascade gel is chlorine based (light green bottle).   As to what type of deterrent is less like to etch, I don't really know.  But what I can say is that fine china manufacturers always recommended chlorine-based gel detergents rather...

Can you identify this KA dishwasher?

Wow Bob, until tonight, I never knew that non-Superba 18 models didn't heat the water.  I'm in shock LOL.     Yes my Superba model heats the water almost all throughout the first and second prewashes, while it is spraying and also while it dwells twice during the first prewash (4.5 minutes...

Can you identify this KA dishwasher?

Hi Bob.  Thanks, I had wondered when the Patrician debuted. I have the service manual for my 18 series.  I've just had a look at the KDP cycles, which I'd never read before.  It would seem that there is no water heating at all in the KDP (that surprises me).  It also looks like the cycles...

Can you identify this KA dishwasher?

I've just found the user manual online and it gives cycle descriptions/stages.  I can't find an exact cycle tech sheet.  But it seems that this Patrician model is definitely a step down from the Superba model that Jon has.  I think I'll stick with my KDS-18!

Can you identify this KA dishwasher?

Thanks for the link, Jon.  I do now remember reading your thread back when you posted it.     The seller has just sent a photo.  It's a KUDP220T4, so yes it's a model below Jon's.   I currently have a KDS-18 and I used to have a KDS-19.     Are the 22's cycles and water heating pauses...

Can you identify this KA dishwasher?

Thanks, Jon.  I messaged the seller but they are currently away from home.  Your Superba looks great!  What model number is yours?

Can you identify this KA dishwasher?

I saw this on MarketPlace and I was wondering if it's possible to tell for sure what model it is.     Is it a 23 series with the PowerClean pump?  Does it circulate while heating? Or do we need to see inside to be sure?   Mark

    Lowest oven setting?

The combo-microwave can be set as low as 30 ºC (86 ºF) and it did prove to be accurate in my test.

    Lowest oven setting?

I decided to try the same thing with the oven and microwave in the flat in Ireland.   The Miele oven can be set as low as you like.  Although the dial only has markings from 50 ºC onwards (122 ºF), it works at settings lower than this.  Assuming you set a temp that is higher than the current...

    Lowest oven setting?

Just out of curiosity, I decided to put a temperature probe in my oven to see how accurately it can maintain the minimum setting of 135 ºF in convection mode and traditional bake mode.  It does a pretty acceptable job.  In my test, it did appear to wait until the thermostat was satisfied before...

    Lowest oven setting?

Reply #9 Hi John   Having read the manual and played around with the controls, there does not seem to be any way at all of preventing my oven from entering "hold mode" when timed bake ends.  It simply will not automatically shut off at all.   And here's the best bit: if you have the oven...

    PANK! Maytag set

Hi Bob.  The seller's name is shown as "ED Beck" in Los Angeles.  I don't know who they are.

    PANK! Maytag set

As Sean mentioned, that is Kevin's photo of his pink Maytag set that I now own, having purchased them from Kevin several years ago.   The seller must have used Kevin's photo, but the seller's other photos in the ad may well be of the set that they are selling -- they are not photos of my set.

British Essentials Sent The Wrong Persil: Non Bio Instead of Bio

I would imagine they will send you the correct order and let you keep the non-bio powder, considering it's their mistake.  Probably not worth their time and expense trying to process the return.  Keep us posted on what happens.   I think the non-bio might not remove certain stains/soiling...

How often do you use the self clean function on your oven?

I run the self-cleaning cycle during the winter, when I can have the windows open during the cycle, as the weather is cool and the heat output is welcome. I don’t run it during the blazing heat of summer, when the windows are closed and the A/C is running. If my oven couldn’t cope with being...

    Lowest oven setting?

Another thing regarding the timer function: all the ovens I’ve used in Europe always turned the elements completely off when the cooking time was up. Whereas my Dacor oven does not do this. Instead, it transitions to “hold” mode and the set temp is then 150 °F / 65 °C. I don’t like this. I...

    Lowest oven setting?

I don’t remember ever seeing an oven in Europe that had a minimum temp setting really. I thought the temp dials started off around room temp. My Dacor oven in the US has a minimum setting of 135 °F / 57 °C. This is the first time I’ve experienced an oven with such a high minimum setting. I...
