+/- 1960 GE Pink GAS Stove!

The ad says they bought another one.  I hope it really is a gas one and they don't have a connection.

Free vintage GE fridge St. Louis

That's funny, because I've been pulling soda out of it daily.

    1962 ge refrigerator - $475 (petaluma)

Whatever year it is, it's the same as my pink one.   Are we to believe the owner in saying it's a 1962 model?

    1930s Hotpoint Fridge

I have never seen an evaporator door hinged on the left.   I suspect that they were not made that way.  I see the doors themselves so seldom.  They get in the way or are easily damaged when the unit is moved.

    Two Vintage Working Refrigerators Frigidaire 1960 & 1940's - $250 (Packard & Central, Hudson)

156 miles, get off your lazy butt and go get it.   I swear some of you here expect delivery to your door.

    1951 GE Fridge repair

Keven,   I think the reason so2 is considered a dirty refrigerant is that it wasn't as pure as those that followed.  It does tend to block the the orifice in the float after 80 something years with a hard black substance.   Of course, these units have cotton insulated motor windings that can...

Like New '30s Monitor Top $250 (Napa County)

That's a weird one, 1933 unit on a 1931 or 32 cabinet with modified legs.   It's also an A15 which if they could take a decent picture, likely makes it a 50 cycle unit.

G E WALL REFRIGERATOR electric situation

Ralph,   14 gauge is rated for 15 amps.  The highest I've ever seen my jumbo pink GE draw is 380 watts.  I have a hunch that's a 16 gauge cord.   Changing the cord is only a problem if the design is poor as Paul has indicated.

    1951 GE Fridge repair

SO2 isn't a wonderful refrigerant as far as I know.   If it was, I would not have encountered many stalled DR series monitor tops that are filled with that noxious gas.  In fact, the oil conditioner in a DR machine is there to boil the so2 out of the mineral oil.

    1951 GE Fridge repair

Refrigerators came with either a porcelain finish or painted.  You don't get a porcelain finish unless you dismantle the whole fridge and have someone porcelain it.   It's cost prohibitive, so don't even ask.  Have a nice automotive paint put on and be happy.

    1951 GE Fridge repair

R12 isn't an acceptable replacement for SO2. It won't cool, it's too dense. If the compressor grounds out, it's dead regardless of the unit being grounded.

Very cute, but at least $900 too high.

    Ceiling heights in houses

At least 9 foot.  There's no way to easily assemble a monitor top in a cramped room.

Pre WWII GE Double Door Fridge.

The original poster is Dave.  I goofed, his former roommate is Wes.   This is likely a 1939 or 1940 model.  These were likely in the finer homes of the day.  It looks like it could be 12 cu ft which is large for the period.   I have made an offer on Ray's behalf.  It might end up being a...

    It does command attention.

Pre WWII GE Double Door Fridge.

That fridge isn't that bad.  The bigger issue is to carefully handle it to avoid damage to it's luscious porcelain coating.   I sent a message to Wes on your behalf.  The baby Westy lives there also!

Pre WWII GE Double Door Fridge.

That has your name all over it.   I have to go to Dayton sometime to get the tiny Westinghouse.
