Oasis or Cabrio?? Knows someone something about it??

It seems that only these modern TL with "disk-agitator" could wash bulky items effectively because the conventional TL with pole-agitator will destroy the bulky items. These modern TL (say Harmony) would use about 80% more water than an modern FL (say Duet HT) and have an energy factor of about...

    AEG Lavamat 660 Videos

Reversing circuit is faulty? Great Video. As seen from the video, tumble only in clockwise direction for about 15 sec and pause for about 20 sec, repeat. I think during the 20 sec "pause", it should be 5 sec pause and 15 sec reversed tumble. The reversing circuit is faulty. Could you locate...

Clearence between inner & outer tubs?

Staber should have the patent. From the video of Staber, the space between the tubs varies as a function of position. This would create a pumping action and water will be forced to move through the holes of the inner tub. Staber claims that this pumping action help cleaning. Don't know if...

    My First Vintage Find :-D

Jon, Enjoy your new toy. Does this FL has a door boot like ordinary FL or door gasket like Asko? Tumble only in one direction does not seem to be reasonable. Would speculate that the directional change-over relay is faulty and it is stuck in one position. This should be a simple fix.

    Maytag tub lites

Door Open as Power Switch? Most modern FL (also TL) have electronic timer, electronic motor control. A very small standing power (about 2 watts) is used although the control-selector is OFF. For example, my Huebsch FL will take a current of about 20mA at standby (OFF). If the door is open, the...

Clearence between inner & outer tubs?

Thanks Jon for telling us about the related sud problem with the tub-gap. What is the tub-gap in your washer; AEG & Miele etc?

Clearence between inner & outer tubs?

However, there will be a higher probability of damaging the tubs if foreign matters are dropped between the tubs.

Clearence between inner & outer tubs?

Do you know the clearance between the inner and outer tubs of your washer? It could be measured easily. Use a small wood stick and put it through the hole of the inner tub until it reach the outer tub. The length of the stick putting in is the clearance. My 95/96 Maytag TL, clearance = 9/16...

    Modified Agitator

Video Ready Maytag TL with modified agitator. MaytagLowWash shows that the upper portion of the agitator is not used at all for the low water level washing. MaytagHighWash shows that the laundry tends to move towards the centre and down. The angel wings, if not cut, would move the laundry...

    My FL on Concrete Slabs

designgeek, Your mention of precaution is noted, thanks. Concrete slabs distribute the weight of the washer over a larger area (about 144 sq in X 4) against the small footings (about 2 sq in X 4) on the wood floor. The surfaces of the slab are rough so it wouldn't move on the floor surface...

    My FL on Concrete Slabs

My FL is placed on the main wood floor above basement. In order to strength the floor, 4 pieces of 12"X12"2.5" concrets slabs, each weighs about 22 lbs, are used to place under the FL. The FL has been working satisfactory even without the slabs. Adding slags have further improvement. This...

    Reliability of US FL?

Huebsch LTZ85 Tumble speed: 50 rpm (reversible) Tumble Low speed: 41 rpm (reversible) Distribution speed: 80 rpm (clockwise only) Pulse Spin : accelerate from distribution speed (80) to a high speed (sound like 500 - 650 rpm), slow down back to 80 rpm; repeat. Low speed:500 rpm Medium speed:650...

    Reliability of US FL?

Mike, Great machine pair. They made by Asko. Asko FL has one of the best suspension as far as I know. But eariler version of Asko in NA seemed to have some motor problem. FL in 70s and 80s are maily slow speed spin (say 600rpm or less) machines. So load balanciing is not a problem. Your...

    NEW! - Frigidaire Affinity

According to the reply, the heater only works in the Sanitary Cycle. Does it maintain the Sanitary temp during the rest of the wash phase? Apparently no. Seemingly most FL only use the heater in a few setting, like Boost Hot and Sanitary.

    Reliability of US FL?

Is US FL less reliabble? Yes, when compared with TL. More complex machines. Inexperience in usage, maintenance and handling. Yes, when compared with Euro FL. Less experience/history in manufacturing of full-size FL. Large size would introduce more vibration/noise problem.

    Reliability of US FL?

Some Fast FL groups SQ is not alone for Fast wash, many other NA washers tend to shorten the time of wash phase to 9-15 min for Normal Soiled cycle. As noted from various source for the total time of REGULAR (Normal Soiled) cycle of some H-axis washers: Speed Queen/Huebsch FL = 30 min ( 9...

Help- Need new washer- front or top?? recommendations?

Correction! Huebsch LTZ8* is discontinous after 2003 (NOT 1993/94) and is replaced by LTZ9*. Would prefer LTZ8* for its electro-mechanical timer. Would prefer LTZ9* for its 3-phase induction motor which is more robust than DC series motor (used by LTZ8*). For a fast spin of 1000 rpm (drum...

    Modified Agitator

Present SQ/Huebsch FL of 4th generation? PeterH770 said my Huebsch LTZ85 is the 3rd generation. So far I am satisfied with this FL and it reminds me of my first 197X Zannusi FL. From poor memory, Zannusi FL had a small capacity (5 kg?), a low spin speed (500 rpm?), no electronics. Had a...
