    Spare Maytag belts anyone?

Hi all! My daily A108, in 2004 had a new set of whirlpool belts. Well im getting a knocking noise thru spin regularly now, maybe a new set of belts would quiet this. Its had somewhat heavy use in last 20 years. Wanted to ask if any of you are in surplus of a set of belts? 47 bucks on...

Kirby vacuums now selling at Costco

Filtration The feature i like the best are the disposable ane sealed HEPA bags on a kirby! Its like having a new vac just by changing the bag - no other stupid filters to clean like other vacs, and air flow is back to 100%.

    New KUDS22 Dishwasher

Amazing find! Id swap out and sell the newer model for a few hundred. It wont last near as long as your great find anyway - may as well sell it while it still works!

    Vintage Tide "Ultra" Powder

Back to Tide Powder Ive done the same - after reading here only powders have fungicide. No more of that faint unlean smell in laundry. Even dirty clothes smell so much more fresh that its hard to tell they need washed!

Miele Never Used Novotronic W1930 Compact Washer - $300 (Charlottesville)

2 sets Why not keep these and have laundry elsewhere in the house as well? 2 sets each of washers and dryers is getting more common as it does get laundry done in half the time!

the dishwasher detergent thing and the bleach

Bugs / etching Ants may show up over a few weeks over summer and maybe those that live in southern states have more issues but if roaches are present then there are bigger issues then rinsing dishes! Thankfully have never had a roach. Summer months/ants present - fruit based/dessert items will...

the dishwasher detergent thing and the bleach

Mechanically softened water here.. Kroger loose powder removes even burned on soils for me. Have used this for many years but if even the slightest humidity gets to the detergent the performance decreases fast, and coffee stains show up first! A chlorine based gel is always on hand as well for...

    WP Dishwasher questions

Wp I had that same model in my first house. Washed great especially on heavy wash but does use about 13 gals of water. Door switch went out on mine.

Help - getting started with "new" 1980s Kenmore dishwasher

Powerclean model here! Many here will be overly jealous of your acquisition! Imo holy grail comes to mind here! Ive used your model extensively and you should be 100% pleased with the washing ability of a powerclean! Doubting any "pump seals" or any leaks will happen. Also these models will...

    KitchenAid Superba vs Bosch Ascenta

Upper rack feed tube. Either pits (holes) have formed on the feed tube to the upper rack wash arm or a new fill valve should be easily installed, maybe both! Old fill valves calcify up limiting full water fills for proper wash power. Cheap diy fix on either issue. Keep that ka and if those 2...

    Amana Radarange

Cookmatic A goodwill find here. This model was produced before the "touchmatic.", but the electronic models before mine had the extra nice, sensitive glass covered electronic touch pad. Very little finger pressure was needed on those. The other great feature on my electronic version (dial and...

    Incremental vs Continuous Advance Timers

Shortened fill Learned something today then as never heard of incremental or continuous advanced timers but can see the difference. The whirlpool quiet wash system (powerclean) timer for normal wash was always easy to cause an initial short fill unless you turned the timer to just before...

    Amana Radarange

Imo the most even cooking, well built microwave oven ever produced! There is a slight difference in heating foods/cooking in a Radarange from this design. The fan driven plate design "stirer" built into the top of these ovens negates need for a silly turntable. The Radarange is my daily driver...

question is chlorine bleach good with hot water from time to time to wash white bedsheets?

White whites without bleach For whites in my neptune, i also find the stain cycle (hot wash, heavy soil and presoak options) produces perfect whites without any need for bleach. Filthy socks and underarm stains look brand new.

    A moment of weakness…

Loading/noise Cameron 20 bucks is an amazing deal! The adapter for faucet (may need an additional adapter as you see in pic) is available at hardware stores. Yes this dw in the portable version you have is a loud one however fully loaded will quiet it down some. The fill portion on these...

    A moment of weakness…

Ultrawash Also used this same model fairly extensively years ago. Ive been in the lookout for one of these. Its one of my favorites! Lower rack can easily handle overlapping of items with ease. The adjustable upper rack allowed for variance of larger items to prevent upper wash arm obstacles...
