    Last call for vintage Kenmores

I just wanted to throw this out here before contacting a scrap hauler. Does anyone want the 1977-78 avocado Kenmore washer/dryer pair I acquired last summer? I simply don't have the room or expertise to rebuild them at this point. Please let me know because I'd rather not junk them. Thanks! Rob

Yay Gordon and Kevin! Thanks for speaking out against those who always try to sabotage our beloved Kenmore memories! I'm thoroughly enjoying this thread! Rob

    Vintage vs. Modern Freestanding Ranges

Kenmore/Frigidaire electric stove I purchased a brand new Kenmore/Frigidaire coil-burner electric stove in 2006. By 2009, the oven element burned out so I ordered a new one from Sears. Just after Thanksgiving last year, I decided to run it through a normal self-clean cycle. When the oven...

    Paging Gordon/Kenmoreguy64

Gordon, If you see this, please contact me. Your work email address kicks messages back to me as spam. I'm wondering if you have a belt-drive Kenmore washer and electric dryer ready for sale. You are still welcome to take the avocado pair I rescued last year. Rob

    Whirlpool top-load washer problem

I doubt there's a pump problem or a plugged drain hose. The machine seems to do this most often if the wash load is on the lighter side (i.e. no heavy jeans or bath towels). My old Whirlpool did this, too, but water did not slosh out of the tub. I wouldn't necessarily care one way or the...

    Whirlpool top-load washer problem

My 2009 Whirlpool top-load washer has decided it would rather spin the water out of the tub instead of draining it. Water sloshes out of the top of the tub and runs down on the floor. What is wrong and how do I fix the problem? Thanks! Rob

Picked up a Maytag Dependable Care for FREE!

Nice! Glad you were able to save this! I can't believe something so nice was just going to be sent to the dump.... Rob

    Belt Drive Pair

John, I'm just thinking along the lines of Maytag, Speed Queen, and the General Motors Fridgidaires. The suspension systems of these machines must have been drastically different than that of a Whirlpool-built machine. Not to beat a dead horse, but I've known of many Maytags over the years...

    Belt Drive Pair

Spin-drain in early direct drives Gordon, do you know why Whirlpool integrated a spin-drain in the early direct drives, only to scrap it and return to its neutral-drain roots? I can honestly say that I have never seen a Whirlpool or Kenmore spin drain the water from a load without opening the...

    Frigidaire door gaskets

Can someone help me find the part numbers of the freezer and fridge door gaskets for this Frigidaire model? Model: FCD-150T Serial: 50AG 9484 The ones on there are original and quite brittle. I think they need to be replaced because there is sweat forming around the doors, especially the...

    Early 806's

Purchase invoice Great washer and dryer! Love the nostalgic handwritten invoice! Note how there was no sales tax charged. This set was purchased just prior to passage of the Minnesota sales and use tax law, which took effect August 1, 1967 at a mere 3 percent.

I've done it again - another stove recued

Ooh! A perfect replacement for the 2006 Kenmore rebadged Frigidaire piece-of-junk electric stove in my kitchen now. Kevin, if you're ever willing to part with any of your 30-inch stoves, please let me know. Thanks! Rob

Demo Video of the Kenmore Vari-Flex agitator

Beautiful, Kevin! What a quiet machine, too! I agree with John, though. This would've been better suited for a model with a single-speed motor, allowing for gentler treatment of permanent press and delicate fabrics. Rob

This K/A crawled out of The Pile and came looking for me... HONEST!

Beautiful! I want one to replace the 2002 Whirlpool when it dies!

    Kenmore coil burner stove

Manufacturer of Kenmore stove The model number is 790.94012600 so it was made by Frigidaire. Interestingly enough, my grandparents have a Montgomery Ward Signature (O'Keefe & Merritt?) electric stove purchased in late 1979 or early 1980, and it has never needed a new oven element either. Only...

    Kenmore coil burner stove

About a year ago, the oven element went out on my Kenmore 94012 electric stove. The stove was purchased new on December 31, 2006 so that wasn't a very long life for an oven element. A new element was ordered from Sears and the defective one replaced. Fast forward to this afternoon. I set the...

Paging Gordon Casey and/or John Lefever

Going to a good home I'm proud to announce that Gordon is arranging to pick up the washer and dryer at some point in the near future. I just don't have the monetary resources right now to delve into any further restoration. I know Gordon will appreciate them more than some Joe Schmo on...

Paging Gordon Casey and/or John Lefever

Well, in all likelihood, I'm going to get rid of this washer and dryer. My unemployment is due to run out at the end of the month so spending more money to restore them isn't a wise use of funds right now. It's a decision I'd rather not make but, unfortunately, I'll probably relist the...

Paging Gordon Casey and/or John Lefever

You don't have to apologize, Gordon! It is what it is, and I couldn't help but wonder what a 33-year-old machine that has been put through the paces would look like underneath. The woman who owned the washer and dryer clearly took care of them so they look great on the outside--but that's...
