    Percolator/coffee maker collection

Final one is a pretty bad photo taken once the camera really started acting up. But it's interesting enough that I thought I'd share, anyway. A small Hamilton Beach drip maker. It might be new, never used--although I got it at Goodwill, and it might have been a clearance item. It has a sticker...

    Percolator/coffee maker collection

Drip coffeemakers owned by that drip, Lord Kenmore. The Braun is interesting--4 cup model. It's the only one I've ever seen. The glass appears two different coffee pot parts (top bowl and caraffe) put together by some previous owner. The red cup top drip maker is one of the few I've actually...

    Percolator/coffee maker collection

A Farberware. Not the nicest looking (although it looks worse in a photo than it does real life). But it's worth posting because it was the percolator I got after some AW.org thread interested in percolators. It's too big for me, but I was surprised by how good the coffee was. Not the best...

Sunbeams I really like the styling of these.

    Percolator/coffee maker collection

Regal Poly Perks I found the gold Poly Perk (and IIRC the cups) maybe 20 years ago or so at a local monthly rummage sale business. It was fun to play with, although as I recall it didn't make very good coffee. I quickly lost interest in using it, although it was handy one time when I was snowed...

    Percolator/coffee maker collection

Cornucopia of Corning ...or I had no idea I had so many CorningWare pots until I gathered them in one place. LOL These have always been mostly display--most are too big for the single person, and I'm thinking most are affected by that potential glue failure problem that could cause a coffee...

    Percolator/coffee maker collection

I would love to see pictures of your collection. Earlier I had time, and took a few photos. They aren't the best photos--I'm not the best photographer, and the digital camera isn't very good. And it started acting up (unfortunately before I was fully done). These are not arranged as they...

More seriously... I have a couple of Sunbeam percolators, and I really like the styling. Indeed, I had a real struggle with buying one of them. "I don't need another percolator--and I already have a Sunbeam!" Needless to say, the practical side didn't win that argument! LOL

    >I recently acquired a chrome Sunbeam Mixmaster, and I thought the two of them would get along well. Hopefully, yes...but there is the risk of Sunbeam sibling rivalry. One possible situation: AP10: I'm the loved appliance. Mixmaster: No, I am! AP10: I'm loved more! LOL

    >collected without needing a warehouse, provided you don’t let it get out of control But what's the fun of a collection that's not out of control? LOL

    Percolator/coffee maker collection

Nice collection! Thanks for sharing! I have a smallish percolator collection, acquired when I was in a percolator phase thanks to this site. 2 or 3 were ones I got to actually use. Others were perhaps gotten to be used "one day", but I'm pretty sure some I figured would likely forever be...

    Post Cycle Dishwasher Rituals?

It's been so long since I have had a dishwasher to use. [In the background, we hear Lord Kenmore sobbing loudly.] So I have only old memories. From what I recall, though, I did nothing more than just open the door a crack for a period as the dishes dried. I always used air drying. I think I...

    Postum Problems

    >The plant that late 60's hunk is shlepping around is not chicory, a member of the aster family and a fairly ugly plant with usually bright blue flowers, as you can see at the link. Well, they might have figured that an ugly plant wouldn't market instant coffee! Or maybe it was just the...

    Postum Problems

    >a mainstream instant coffee that had chicory, and was advertised having chicory? I might have solved my own mystery. I'm thinking I might be remembering Sunrise. Ad: I have a vague memory that suggests that my mother might have bought this stuff at some point (probably to use when only...

    Postum Problems

Chicory question Am I right in remembering that there was a mainstream instant coffee that had chicory, and was advertised having chicory? (Advertising making chicory sound like a plus, although one wonders if the real reason wasn't a dollars and cents decision!) I'm thinking this might be late...

I would imagine this blend is available in a bag, as well I'm guessing it's this bag: https://www.frenchmarketcoffee.com/our-coffee/creole-blend-bag/ They apparently have a large variety of flavors and package formats. Even canned for those who insist on the full "like the old days"...

KitchenAid K-45 Mixer -- How Old Is It?

How can I find out how old this is? Others know KitchenAid better than I do. As Ralph said, others might come up with a date with more photos of the mixer. But I can say I'd assume it's no newer than 1980-something because the plate says "Hobart", which sold KitchenAid in the 1980s to Whirlpool.

My rare?/ hard to find vintage appliances

    >the brown from the inside (though I’m not too concerned about it- if a guest can see it it means I didn’t make enough food Or else it the dish was so good they just couldn't stop eating!

My rare?/ hard to find vintage appliances

As for Corning Ware on the stove--it seems to me that I've heard warnings here that it's not the best match for whatever reason for electric stoves. (I think the bottoms weren't flat enough or something like that.) I think the warning indicated if used keep the heat low. I can't remember for...
