    A Very Strange Dishwasher

What a strange looking contraption.   Looks like it was designed to wash dishes.  The rack actually has a guard to protect the dishes loaded from the impeller.    I bet is was also designed to wash fabric.  Like baby diapers, or undies.  What a thought....blah.   The rack looks like...

    Please help, if possible !

Just go to the Windows logo at the lower part of your screen. (lowest left of your screen)  Left click once.  Right above the Windows logo will be the power options circle.  Left click on it once and move your cursor up to "shut down".  Sometimes when doing this you will see the option "shut...

Vintage GE Dryer - "100 Years Old"

What was the cu ft of this dryer?  When I was a kid I thought they were enormous!

    Dexter Double Load Washers

There is a laundromat in the Atlanta area that still has the double loaders in Avocado and Almond color still chugging away.  They are also still in very good shape.  The dryers have all been replaced within the last 15 years or so.

    Montgomery Ward Catalog

Greg, Those are fun scans! GASOLINE RANGE?! I have never heard of such a thing! UL Approved at that. Wonder how safe they really were? Or how in the world they even worked? I loved the Signature Model washers / dryers. As a kid, I thought they were beautifully styled and unique. Also...

My LG-made Kenmore front loader's tub doesn't spin as smoothly by hand like it used to

There will be some "tightness" right after your final spin.  Wait awhile and go turn the tub and you will notice that it turns freely again.   All of the direct drive front loaders that I have used do this after the final spin.

    Dishwashers. Consumer Reports. May 1974

Steve, Interesting about the Whirlpool dryer "defect". Over the years CR has made the exact mistakes many times here in the US on Appliances, cars, and electronics that were exactly the same but had different name badges.

    Our "new" old microwave!

Sharp made / makes a very good microwave.  I have several in the "convection oven" version of this vintage.  They do hold up very well.

    Dishwashers. Consumer Reports. May 1974

Thanks for the scans!    Wonder why they did not test the KDS-17 with internal heater instead of the KDI-17?   Isn't the Whirlpool mentioned in the test the model that Robert just found?

Free Sears 600 Series Furance / San Diego

Thanks for the information on the manufacture of the Homart Furnaces. I remember for a time that Whirlpool were building their furnaces and condensers. Wonder what year they started for Sears. There are quite a few people that have posted videos on Youtube of their Homart Furnaces still in...

POD 9/7/16 - TOL Easy W&D "even a man can run it"

Good eye Greg!   The King's look like they have been discussing why she does not have the matching dryer as of yet....

Free Sears 600 Series Furance / San Diego

What a great old Homart.    Does anyone know who built these for Sears?  Wonder if it was several companies, or just one manufacture.    They were truly built to last.  Many of these are still in operation.

A Two Speed Dishwasher? An Imperial 90!

What an awesome find!  This dishwasher is a great cleaner!  Awesome sounds! I had one in an apartment in New Orleans way back in the early 1980's. I thought it was fun how you had to "Pull to Start" on the cycle knob, just like a WP clothes washer. Your Whirlpool looks mint for it's age! This...
