There is a laundromat in the Atlanta area that still has the double loaders in Avocado and Almond color still chugging away.  They are also still in very good shape.  The dryers have all been replaced within the last 15 years or so.

There will be some "tightness" right after your final spin.  Wait awhile and go turn the tub and you will notice that it turns freely again.   All of the direct drive front loaders that I have used do this after the final spin.

Steve, Interesting about the Whirlpool dryer "defect". Over the years CR has made the exact mistakes many times here in the US on Appliances, cars, and electronics that were exactly the same but had different name badges.

Sharp made / makes a very good microwave.  I have several in the "convection oven" version of this vintage.  They do hold up very well.  

Thanks for the scans!    Wonder why they did not test the KDS-17 with internal heater instead of the KDI-17?   Isn't the Whirlpool mentioned in the test the model that Robert just found?

What a great old Homart.    Does anyone know who built these for Sears?  Wonder if it was several companies, or just one manufacture.    They were truly built to last.  Many of these are still in operation.
