So, what are your favourite terms, wording, nomenclature etc... that you found on appliances?    I always liked how Maytag called the gentle cycle Delicate. I also think the Filter-Flo name is cool, rinse & hold, and the name Perma Press for permanent press.    Bonus points for pictures. 

There is a fair chance that a normal wash may be running the wash motor too long, long enough to trip the thermal cut out.

These infact, are Canadian machines. First generation of the DD machines here, early 90s.   The lid instructions are bilingual which is really cool.

I would also peg this machine as being from the early 70s, the tub cover is metal.

That is a steep price for that machine. In my mins $100 is reasonable but much more than that is borderline crazy. You are right, it would be best to rebuild the machine.    Side note, I seen a mid 2000s Roper DD set here in Nova Scotia for sale for $1200...

Id be interested in racks from the KDS-21. Also any parts relating to that machine too.

Thanks for the replies, guys!   I have experienced some rope action in this machine as well as a true, non tilted, H axis GE. It was rare on both machines but it happened maybe once a month.

Not very Elite is right! Ive also never understood this particular model of the Elite series, an entry level "BOL elite".   Althought nicely styled, the washer and dryer have many features the 80 and 90 Series at the time had... Not even fully variable water level! I prefer the Elite machines...

Maytag machines are by far the easiest to work on. BD Whirlpools? Not so much. Lots of going between the top and bottom of the machine as the baseplate divides the entire machine in two more or less. Whirlpool referred to one side as the water side, and the other as the drive side. Theyre harder...

This machine is about early 1990s.
