    Utensil marks, part 2

You could try some of Mother's California Gold products. I use the chrome polish to clean silver plate. Works great, doesn't stink and isn't toxic. I called Mothers and asked first. They put me thru to lab. They didn't see why it wouldn't work. If it doesn't work on your plates you can have a...

    help with vintage visimatic wringer?

Such a pudgy little wringer. Seeing the half skirt, swollen legs and small feet reminds me of a large lady in a dress with heels. Nice washer.

Old Hamilton Beach 3 head milkshake mixer

Been looking for one of these for a long time. It has to be light green though. I would imagine they would weigh as much as a Kitchen Aid mixer or more?

    Solid Tub Washers

Would a wringer washer as a solid tub work better? My Admiral wringer has a filter under the agitator. If you were lifting the clothes up from the sandy water it would have to have preformed better than an automatic.

The Vintage Laundry Room: Part One

The house across the street has a laundry chute which might be still used. The house was built in the 50's. The chute was located under the sink in the bathroom. Had a little door you opened. I was at a friend's house, a big old Edwardian monster with three floors. The chute was in the hall...

    BOL Kenmore Durawash

My last rental apartment had this Whirlpool dishwasher. Wasn't bad but wasn't great. No top level spray arm. Left yibbles with the spray tower and wasn't the greatest at drying. Better than no dishwasher. I am sure it has been sent to the curb by now.

Sad End For Two Canadian Wringer Washers

Can't watch that. Horrible. The other day I went into the laundry mat here just to see how much they charge. The double load washer is $7.00. An old wringer would pay for itself pretty quick and it is portable if you live in a apartment. Anything would be better than spending your Saturday...

    Stirking Marathon

Tooted back in the day meant they were made by Mennonites hand crafted and engineered like old school appliances forged like horse shoes. Not even close. Mennonites might have been involved hauling supplies but I doubt much after that.

    Stirking Marathon

A friend of mine just had to have an old fashion looking new range from Elmira Stove works. The town of Elmira is about 30 minutes from me. When I went to paint her reno kitchen the first thing to go was the stove. She regretted buying it from day one. She said there were so many things that...

    laundry pet peevs

The few times I have had to use a laundry mat the waste of time waiting and the yuck factor. Can't get out of there fast enuff. A washer that had lots of dog hair would be a big no but pubic hair would make me gag.
