    Lady Maytag Dates of Manufacture

pretty dead? It's got tons of higher learning, great hospitals and some really good restaurants. Not to mention a renovated train station and a major highway that connects with other major highways. Oh and now a brand new baseball stadium. I can't ever recall it being dead.

Anyone know why LG washers do this?

My GE front loader does this also. As well as my past GE front loader. I find the stain removal excellent.

    Bath Soaps & Cleaning

Yardlees old English lavender bar soap and a squeegee. I find the bar soap doesn't dry my skin.  I was using Nivea for men but then I found my skin drying out. I squeegee down the shower walls and door before exiting the shower.  Never give anything a chance to build up.  I do use dawn dish...

Just a guess but perhaps the choice of plastisol over porcelain enamel was that plastisol was better at muffling the water splashing sounds?

Do Any garbage Disposals Have "Sharp blades"?

Disposal is forbidden in the condo unit I'm in with septic. At my other house I hardly used the disposal.  In fact I wanted to remove it all together when remodeling but the plumber advised against it because some people consider it a selling feature.   I think of them as a nuisance.  Especially...

How old is this GE set?

The dryer Will dry well enough but they have problems with the sliders wearing down and squeaking. These sliders are like bearings that the drum rides on at the front.  My 1 year old GE is doing that.  But I also know others that have done it too.  Problem is easy enough to fix if caught in...

Never thought I would see one again.  Was in my brother's first home.  Builders special.   Noisy but it washed okay.

    Early Tappan DW

So basically. You had to put the dishes in clean and this Tappan  just rinsed them?  I don't see how splashing water against a greasy dish or lipstick stained mug or glass is going to clean them. They would have been better off asking Whirlpool or GE or White Consolidated for an OEM contract.

    Whirlpool Dishwasher

I'm only guessing but that dishwasher reminds me of my Whirlpool portable that was new in 1987.  I didn't have the fully electronic control panel.  So I'm thinking that dishwasher is from the 1980's ?

Do top-loaders truly wash clothes better than front-loaders?

front loader.  Whites are white without use of LCB.  Pre-treating is not needed.  More flexibility in cycles. Concentrated detergent/water solution along with longer wash times helps remove unwanted odors.  Clothes last longer.  Less stress on water /sewage system (especially if you have a well...
