Are recent SQ FL's supposed to add more water for larger loads?

mark_wpduet The current (I think) clothes washer test procedure says:   1.7 Energy test cycle for a basic model means (A) the cycle recommended by the manufacturer for washing cotton or linen clothes, and includes all wash/rinse temperature selections and water levels offered in that cycle...

Are recent SQ FL's supposed to add more water for larger loads?

OK, but those two guys say their SQ FL's never add more water after the initial fill, no matter what the load is.

Are recent SQ FL's supposed to add more water for larger loads?

Thanks Malcolm. Maybe John L. can chime in about the latest models, and confirm that they work the same way, and are broken if not. There's a claim on Gardenweb that the new SQ FL models are "less flexible" in how they fill. I hate to see stuff that gives people ammunition to claim that front...

Are recent SQ FL's supposed to add more water for larger loads?

A couple of people on Gardenweb have recent (not sure whether electronic controls) SQ FL's that never add more water after the initial fill. Wash results are less than satisfactory. I say they've got to be broken, but one of them was told by SQ that it's working normally.

When Did Asko Go Off The Rails?

It was supported on the pallet blocks, not the deck boards. That is solid footing.  My videos don't show the washer body moving at all, just the suspended part (door). I had the installer put it on a pallet (and he had no reservations whatsoever about it) because a platform wasn't available...

    Asko Pro Series W & D - anybody w/personal experience?

Yep, it's made in Slovenia.  See serial plate below.  Build quality seems ok, judging from the parts I can see and feel.   It's one thing to ship buggy software, or even buggy firmware in an updateable device, knowing it will be updated later.  But this washer isn't updateable, other than by...

    Asko Pro Series W & D - anybody w/personal experience?

The Asko website, for North America anyway, describes the Quattro Pro suspension and adds "Particularly nice if you live in a wooden house or apartment building, where vibrating washing machines can be a real disturbance."  So it should work on wood.  Yep, I'd like it off the pallet, when Asko...

    Asko Pro Series W & D - anybody w/personal experience?

Washer footing Mike, I don't think the pallet is the problem.  The legs are on the pallet blocks, and it's a heavy pallet that was used for shipping ceramic tiles.  The washer body doesn't move.   The real issue is that the Asko Pro Series W8844XLW is a half-baked effort that shouldn't be on...

When Did Asko Go Off The Rails?

I bet Asko has been rerailed I'm taking delivery of an Asko Pro Series W8844XLW washer tomorrow, so obviously I believe it's worth taking a chance on them now. I'm taking the chance because this machine is unique in the US market, a halfway-decent-sized (2.83 cu ft claimed, 2.7 cu ft DOE...

Let's Talk About Heating Shall We?

Boiler sight glass A childhood friend had a boiler in his family's single family house (don't know if steam or hot water). We were down there one day and he noticed the water in the sight glass was on the "summer" level though it was winter. He turned a valve, and the basement started to flood...

Let's Talk About Heating Shall We?

Different heat timers Something at the end of a conduit poking out of a basement window was pointed out to me as the heat timer sensor.  This was in a 6-story 42-unit building built in the 1950's.  I was on the board.   So your heat timer sensed the return condensate temperature?  That's an...
