Is the TC5 model not available in Canada?  If not, I would definitely recommend a front load Speed Queen!

I'm not familiar with the A211; however, as already mentioned, resetting the timer to the final rinse and/or using Permanent Press would be two great and easy options.

Run from the Maytag!  It will not serve you well.  The Kirkland is a rebadge Whirlpool direct drive.  That is a good solid machine.  I've never heard of that marque either but if you can find the equivalent parts, it will make a good daily use machine.

The pair in Mission Hills is a real workhorse.  I bought that pair around 1986 and only changed the drive belt a couple of times on the washer.  I gave them away in 2017 when I moved and they were still going strong.

The great thing about the PP cycle on the A407 is that the cool down can sort of function as an extra rinse and it will still spin on high speed (since there is no low speed).  I had an A407 but converted it to an A606 with PP.  I had to rig some new wiring but it works!

If you want something that will wash bulky comforters, go with the LG's 4.5 cf tub or larger with Turbo Wash.

Yes, balancing the spin basket requires some trial and error.  The service manual also has a procedure fore making sure the tub springs have the correct tension in relation to each other.  I'll see if I can't find it and post.
