Poppy red ! Congrats, dear Christina ! Hope that you can revive this great machine, as it surely is worth it. Btw, just found old (2006 & 2011) threads with discussions and pictures about the Frigidaire: https://www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?7358...

DE50 Kenny (goatfarmer), That's a nice vintage dryer, indeed. Looks in pretty good shape. Reminds one a lot of the Hoover set of small twin tub and matching dryer of the same era. (Note: I have checked for the appliance on the picture and provided link and, acccording to the serial number...

unclejohn is back ...with Maytag !

Hi Everybody ! Got me yet another twin tub !! I'm tempted to say, as a design, the 'cutest' of all twinnies. Yep, someone sold (through Kijiji) an Maytag model A50, known as Porta-Washer. As it happens, i contacted the guy--who had it in the basement of his house. Moreover, he was located in...

    Hoover portable washer

You said Kenmore ? Got myself one little Kenmore ('Simpsons-Sears') washer spin-dryer, much alike the Hoover pictured above. The Kenmore model came with one water spigot for fill and rinse purposes. Mine's was manufactured in Canada back in the early 1980s. / uj

How did your interest in washing machines start?

Very interesting question, Michael ! The point of view / subject raised by Ken (Bajaespuma) is equally very interesting. There exist a photo of myself taken next to our Hoover washer, from 1966. IIRC, my mom started to use a small Hoover twin tub washer back in 1965 (the year of my birth)...
