    Frigidaire Flair Removal

Chris - you'll want at least two people for this move. These are very heavy units. You may also want to remove the drip pans and burner supports before moving (depending on how it will be transported). I moved a 40" double oven Flair (heaviest stove I've ever moved) and we had to lay it on it's...

New to me - Hotpoint drop in oven

John saved the day! John - it was so good to see you, Anthony and his mom last week! I'm grateful for your repair on the GE. It's a beautiful range but I just couldn't understand why the oven wouldn't hold temperature. Luckily I knew a repair tech with decades of experience to troubleshoot the...

Corelle recommends using their pre-2005 dishes as “decorative pieces” due to lead

That's my pattern! I've literally been using these plates since I was 9 years old. Funny how the ad says "Hand Wash." Mine have been washed in the dishwasher thousands of times and so far, so good.

Corelle recommends using their pre-2005 dishes as “decorative pieces” due to lead

I've been eating off the same Gold Butterfly Corelle dishes since 1973. It's probably too late for me - hopefully I'll survive.

    Did Sunbeam end mixer production?

I'm wondering if they got out of the appliance business completely. Their website seems to be focused on comfort products.

What are people looking to BUY these days?

I should not be buying anything! LOL But I've always got my eyes open for vintage electric ranges. I still do not have a Philco or Kenmore vintage electric range in my collection. Beyond that, I don't buy much any more unless something is really unusual or unique.

    Cleaning a Poly Perk

I have a number of Poly-Perks, including some 20-cup and 36-cup Poly-Perk urns. I found the plastic material to be pretty resilient to acidic additives like vinegar. Here are the things I keep on-hand to clean percolators - depending on the materials of the appliance (most have already been...

    Looking for Frigidaire Flair knob

Hello! I recently picked up a Flair Custom Imperial that is complete except there is one small knob missing that goes to the meat thermometer setting. The same knob is also used for the surface/oven lights switch. Does anyone happen to have one in their spare parts? Thanks so much! Kevin

    Gillette MACH3 Blades

I stopped using cartridge blades years ago. They always got clogged, didn't last, and were obscenely priced. When I see the cost of some of those five blade cartridges today I can hardly believe it. My daily shave has been with a double edge safety razor. Like Eddie, I also a Merkur razor...
