Your Dilemma I can only imagine that washing anything in a Front Loafer might ruin a load of wash. That said, items that are aged and worn, can easily give to other things in the wash, like zippers, clasps, buttons. Same can happen to newer items. Sorting can be important.

The Filter Have you pulled the filter out and cleaned it. That was the problem on a machine from that period that I had and it cured the issue.

Screen Filter Have you ever pulled the screen filter out and given it a good cleaning. It's amazing how a clogged filter and affect the machine.

Short rinses The clothes barely began to circulate after filling when it stopped for the spin and I never overloaded.

Barkeepers Friend/Helper, sold in the aisle with all the cleaners would make that pan shine like new. Good thing to keep in the house.

The Filter? When was the last time someone took the filter out and cleaned it. Had similar problem thirty years ago with a varicycle. You need to lift out the spray arm, then use a LONG phillips screwdriver to remove three screws at the bottom of the inside of the filter. A Magnetized...

My mom had a 1964 Lady K with all the buttons for different cycles PLUS slow/extra slow choices. It was quite a machine.
