Indesit L5 This machine is in excellent condition for it's age. I am still looking for an L5, but I have the L8 version (see Post# 475214). The L8 is also rated as a 4kg machine, even though the drum is the same size as that of the L6. Maybe they were playing safe due to the spin-drain.

Saw this machine on Gumtree. It is in remarkably good condition for it's age. Looking at the pump cover position, it looks as if it is a spin-drain model. Can someone confirm this and the spin speed? The 2091/2 were 550 rpm.

Since I retired, my 2 year old Samsung 8kg TL is now too big. (The Samsung TL range offers 8, 10 & 13kg machines). I now use my 32 year old Indesit L8 4kg most of the time.

KIC Laundry Appliances KIC was sold to Picardi Liquors, who then sold off the various divisions. Fridges to Whirlpool, Hitachi, Indesit & Speed Queen to Lead Laundry Appliances. The KIC badged twin-tubs, Top & Front loaders were mainly rebadged Daewoo machines.

Colston 850XD These machines were sold in South Africa as the Indesit 525 (5kg wash, 2.5kg dry) with 3 buttons. A cold wash button was added & then it became the Indesit 526.

First in SA The LS12 was the first Indesit dishwasher sold in South Africa, but the LS18, 114, 2114 was the best seller right into the 90's. At 1.2m high, this is my idea of a tall tub machine.

I agree with Gabriele I must admit that I have never owned a Miele. As for AEG, I had a Lavamat 64 SL, but hated it as it always chopped holes in the floor. My mom had a Lavamat 540 for 27 years. When it died, spares were not availlable. The new AEG Electrolux machines only seem to last 5 years...

Top Loaders Aldo The Samsung & LG pulsator T/L's are larger capacity & half the price of a comparable front loader. My Samsung T/L washes just as clean as the FL but in less time.
