I Think I Ruined My Washing Machine....

Well Let's see, first I ran 3 hot washes through with detergent, then bleach, then vinegar....that's where I learned that even doing a purge of my hot water line in the bathroom isn't enough to get hot water into the damned machine....seriously, why can't they just have a valve that drains the...

    Philco Duomatic for sale

I wonder How hard this would be to haul up a flight of steps....and if my floor could hold it. I'm going to be in need of a new machine in a few months anyways...

I Think I Ruined My Washing Machine....

I think we've fixed it About 30 cycles later and 3 washes of rags, I think we've gotten it. The good thing is none of the clothing is smelling of diesel. Thanks everyone!

I Think I Ruined My Washing Machine....

Muchos Gracias Thanks gents (and ladies), I told the ex about Purple Cleaner and Spray 9 - they're his machines. I swear I could go back and kick the crap outta the mechanic for getting fuel all over the trunk liner of my car...but my washer issues aren't really his fault are they.

I Think I Ruined My Washing Machine....

Thanks for all the tips It seems that perhaps the cascade may have done the trick, right now I'm in wait and see mode. I have a load of rags in there with regular detergent. If that doesn't work, it's on to vinegar. I was so worried I'd have to run out and buy something new.

Long story short, I washed a mat in my car that stank of diesel fuel, and turned out to have some on it, in my Bosch Nexxt washer...and now the mat AND the washer stink of diesel. HELP! I've run hot washes through with my regular detergent, color safe bleach, vinegar and Cascade...have I...

    Ironrite Mangle Help Please :-)

Black with gold accents You know, my ex suggested that too! He's the artistic one, me? Not so much lol Since it'll be living in my library I'm thinking that may be the way to go. I'll be sure to post pix whenever I do it, though.

    Ironrite Mangle Help Please :-)

Home! Well I got it home - the seller even moved it for me! I'd say it was well worth the $85. Unfortunately the cabinet has been painted entirely beige, along with the handles. Not sure what I'll do about that. But it works, just need a new muslin cover for the roller and probably need to...

    Ironrite Mangle Help Please :-)

So much great info! @sudslock1 - thanks for the oil info, I can't wait to get home to watch the video. The machine is going to need some cleaning up, and the wood is de-laminating from having been painted, so I'll have to find SOME way to make it presentable and functional. @whirlcool - my...

    Ironrite Mangle Help Please :-)

Awesome Thanks for the additional tips, I wasn't sure if I could even move it any other way but upright. What type of oil should I refill it with? I assume rewiring the cord is probably as simple as rewiring a lamp.

    Ironrite Mangle Help Please :-)

Hey all, There's a nice looking Ironrite mangle, with wooden cabinet, for sale in my neighborhood. I've gotten them down from $140 to $85. What should I specifically look for on this? Are these easy to work on if all is not well? Sorry I don't have a pic, I'll see if I can find the post again.

Help! Need a laundry set in a pinch!

I guess some specifics would be helpful lol Sorry about the lack of specifics - can ya tell I'm a tad harried? Top or front load doesn't matter to me, I'm hoping to get a set and stay under $1,000, I could even be alright with line-drying for a while...if not perm. And, oddly enough, I've...
