Something new has found its way to Ogden...

Hello Paul and everyone, It has been so chaotic here at home since returning from my (along with Todd) trip to the Northeast, that I just have not had any time to compose my trip report. Please be patient with me. I'll try to get it up this week. In the meantime: Todd and I stopped in Parma...

    Kenmore sink and dishwasher combo!!

Yes, I have two Sears Electric Sink versions with the "Homart" badge, both of which I believe are from 1950. This Sear Electric Sink has the "Kenmore" badge, and I believe it dates to 1952. I also have a freestanding Sears Dishwasher that I acquired from Chris in St. Louis, which has the...

    another crazy cragslist ad

GOSH, I didn't even realize this discussion had occurred. Just proves how lax I have become in reading AW threads. OK, let me add to what Ralph and "washer111" (sorry I don't know your name) have discovered and commented on. I just came across this Craigslist posting on May 10th. I...

Wow Paul! I did now realize you had this dishwasher. This Whirlpool dishwasher was completely under the radar for me. Congratulations! I look forward to seeing it in June. Mike

    Vintage DW Alert!!!

Amazing how many G.E. Electric Sinks, as well as other brands, have turned up since I first started collecting them in mid-2008! $300 is over priced, especially considering the condition of the cabinet on the sink side. $100 at best. Dishwasher is inoperative lively because of a plugged water...

    40's 50's? GE dishwasher/sink in Ohio

By the mid-1950's the top rack is totally redesigned. Also, a regular timer (item #91) is introduced to control start, stop, water fill and drain. The timer replaced the speed reducer controlled Cam and Cam Follower method of controlling the cycle. An external drain pump (item #88) was also...

    40's 50's? GE dishwasher/sink in Ohio

Here is an illustration of the S-10 Mechanism, introduced in 1950 Models. The bottom rack has been redesigned. And pin assemblies (WD2X99) have been placed in all four corners for the top rack to rest on. Note that the filter screen is removed.

    40's 50's? GE dishwasher/sink in Ohio

Here is the S-7 Mechanism Parts List. The models produced in 1948 and 1949 used this configuration. Note the top rack still rests on top of the loops of the bottom rack. Interesting observation here - the food particle filter screen (WD28X2) is shown with the impeller. Yet, I have never...

    40's 50's? GE dishwasher/sink in Ohio

Shown is an illustration representative of the dishwasher models produced in the 1930's. Note the February 1940 date. This shows the top rack resting on the tall wire loops in the corners of the bottom rack.

    40's 50's? GE dishwasher/sink in Ohio

To Bob and anyone else who might be interested in the early GE Dishwashers: I am probably one of a very small group of us that is really interested in the engineering changes that GE made in Dishwasher technology between the 1930's and the early 1960's. This approximate 30 year window is of...

    40's 50's? GE dishwasher/sink in Ohio

Anthony, I am guessing this is a model from 1953. GE started using the larger style air gap cover around that time. The first two digits of the serial number will tell you the manufactured year. Message me if you need help with this machine. I am betting the cause of the water not flowing...

    1930s "Standard" Electric Dishwasher/Sink

Up until now, I was only aware of three manufacturers of Electric Sinks in the 1920's and 1930's: Kohler, Conover, and Walker - purchased by GE in 1930. You might be absolutely correct in stating that Standard, later became American Standard. And thus, there is a forth Electric Sink...

    Nice impeller DW!

This seller is impossible to deal with, IN MY OPINION. I was in Jeannette on my way through PA, trying to contact the seller, after he had been in contact with me, but stopped communicating for some reason. I wish someone from our group in the Pittsburgh area would attempt to buy this...
