    Number PULEAZE! Part Two:

Ringer Box I notice the 1929 ad said nothing about the ringer. Didn't all phones of that era require a separate ringer box for each phone? And how much would those cost to install in each room you wanted?

    Sears bankruptcy looming

Even in the early 2000s this didn't seem possible, let alone back in the heyday of the 80s. Never in a bazillion years would I have though they could sink to what they have become over the last 15 years. I think at this point it's too late to fix. They have sold off far too many assets that...

    Found a 1974 Ward's Signature Washer/Dryer set in Avocado!

Big Green Buick So did you snag the green Electra to go with your Avocado set?

    BROWN SUGAR

I buy C&H in the plastic bag, keep it folded tight, and stored in a large zip-lock bag to boot. Never had any problems with it turning solid. Storing it in a container is another matter. Was never able to keep it from solidifying in a storage container.

    POD 11-24

Sales Numbers Has anyone ever come across sales figures for the Space-Mates? I wonder how many of these were sold over the life of the model.

Cuban burgers, with a garlic mojo sauce.

    POD 10-26-2018

Does anyone know why GE stuck with the top-loading design for so long, especially since Kitchen Aid used the front-loading design from the beginning? Seemed very primitive to me. And I'm guessing there was an impeller at the bottom rather than a spray-arm in these things.

70th Anniversary of Hoover UK Washing Machines, 12th October 1948

Hoover Dish Washer And here's the beautiful Rosalind Lloyd with a Hoover Dish Washer ad. Early to mid 80s I think.

Kitchen Appliances That Never Quite Fullfilled Their Promises

Countertop Baking I wonder if the Frigidaire fold back surface cooking units should be on the list. Seemed like a solution in search of a problem.

Thanks! Ancestry has the Sears catalogs archived now so I'm going to go back and take a look.

Does anyone know what year this Kenmore set is from? I want to look it up in the online catalogs.

Interesting call for an out-of-temp walk in. Do not read if you have a weak stomach...

I haven't eaten at a KFC since the late 70s. Couldn't stand them in those days either.

    Modern Living: Part One

Wall Washing I've never seen anyone do this before. But it would make if you were in a house full of heavy smokers. As was the case back in the day.

My Dumb Blonde of a Ling-Temco

Institutional use? So was this something intended for institutional/commercial markets? I can't see someone buying one of these new for home use.

    Signature POD 8/24

Warge My Grannie had one of these in the 70s, in Harvest Gold of course. Lasted 10 years before getting replaced by a Kenmore. Very solid machine. I bet there are more of these surviving out there somewhere than anyone knows.

    Vintage Appliance Advertisements: Part Seven

I did not know Hoover ever made coffee pots, of all things. Wonder how many of those are still around.

    Curbside Finds

A few months ago, a member acquired a mint Whirlpool Imperial Mark XII set that someone had left out on the curb for the trash men to pick up. This has me wondering how many of you found a classic washer and/or dryer left out on someone's curb for disposal. Especially machines in good working...

Open flame only for safety My advice on cooking chicken today is to only cook it on a grill, gas or charcoal. I will NOT cook chicken on anything other than my gas grill. The heat kills the bacteria, and the fat and other undesirables are able to drip completely away. Even when I make...

Ford To Abandon Most of Their Car Line

Should have moved the Fusion line to the US rather than discontinuing. Drove one at work for several years and loved it. Can't see any sense in killing that line. Need to bring the LTD and Country Squire back, since big vehicles seem to be in vogue again. Had a 1977 LTD Brougham with the big...
