"Very Clean" GE FF Washer & Matching Dryer

Oh my goodness At first I thought this was a WWA8350, which is what I've been looking for for years now. I didn't realize they made standard capacity models with the mini basket option. I think its really interesting how this model has an infinite water level switch, something I've only seen on...

Anyone know anything about post-FF GE washers?

I've done some reading and according to various people, these machines were replaced by the Hydrowave in either 2006, 2007, or 2009. I've gathered that those are pretty terrible, but I do like that washboard style plastic inner tub they had.   From what I remember about my grandfather's...

Anyone know anything about post-FF GE washers?

Well this is a bit of a blast from my past. My grandfather had a washer just like this when I was a young child except with a dual action agitator. Whenever he did laundry while I was over there, I would always stand up on a stool to peek through the lid as it ran through its cycle. I remember...

    Calling all Maytag experts

Have you verified that the timer itself is functioning properly? Is it actually receiving voltage from the outlet? Grab a multimeter and trace out the electrical pathways from the outlet to the motor. If the timer is receiving a voltage but isn't sending it to the motor when it should, then...

1967 Maytag 806 Set in Cordoba Copper

I just noticed something about that agitator. I've never seen a Power Fin like that with the 4 additional auxiliary fins and the chrome (gray?) lint filter. Was that standard on 1960's models?

1967 Maytag 806 Set in Cordoba Copper

Oh my goodness, that is astonishing!!! I've never seen a copper set look as nice as that! My dream set is an 806 set in harvest gold, but honestly now I would totally settle for copper.   I envy your ability to find these machines. Clearly I'm not looking in the right places...

    BOL GE FF

My goodness. Everyone has been selling FF's all the sudden here recently. Waiting until a WWA8350 shows up like I have pictured below.

Two more Filter Flos for sale

Maybe one of your distribution tanks in your leech field is clogged up. Happened to me a few years ago, a distribution tank completely caved in.

    FREE 806 Indianapolis!!!

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1420361035477402/   Seller only included one picture, but the cabinet looks to be in great shape! Just a little dirty. Seller also says it works, but even if it doesn't, a free 806 is still a free 806.   I would totally grab this one for myself if I...

    Salvaging a Maytag A512

If you're going to part it out, then I'd suggest saving everything and selling all the parts that you don't need/want. There might be someone out there trying to restore an old Maytag but the tub is rusted through and he or she needs a new one, or maybe the agitator is broken or the cabinet is...

    $30 Filter Flo Erlanger KY

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2095075137518298/   Looks like a 2 speed standard (small) capacity model from the early 90's. Somewhere between BOL and MOL.   Been a while since I've seen a FF in the wild so for all my fellow FF enthusiasts out there, now's your chance!

60's? Inglis Dryer with viewing window

Oh wow, Sean after reading your Imperial Mark XII thread, I must say I really want one now lol. I've always preferred Kenmore personally, but that is absolutely beautiful! You did a fantastic job on that.

Rebuilding an early 90s Direct Drive

After seeing how disgusting this machine was inside when I first got it, ain’t no way I would have used it to clean my own clothes without cleaning it first. Cheap detergent plus cold washes and neutral drain really does a number on the cleanliness of the machine. This whole process has caused...

Rebuilding an early 90s Direct Drive

Replies 33 and 36 I actually completely agree with y’all. If I ever buy a rebuilt/refurbished washer, I’m still tearing it down myself to make sure he or she did a good job. As for me and the machines I rebuild and sell, I take pride in my work. I replace every part that is broken or badly...

Rebuilding an early 90s Direct Drive

…how did you resolve the spin speed? I was using an extension cord to test it then. I don’t know if that’ll actually cause it since I know some washers like Maytags really don’t like extension cords. I also put fresh turbine oil in the spin bearings. Either of those things could have fixed it...

Rebuilding an early 90s Direct Drive

Finished it up! Got it completed reassembled! Really happy with how this turned out. I also went ahead and added a fabric softener dispenser. Now just gotta run water through it. Fingers crossed I put the new shaft seals on correctly…

Rebuilding an early 90s Direct Drive

Reply 29 Thank you very much! I’ve definitely really enjoyed rebuilding these old machines. Maytag has been my favorite to work on so far, though I have had very limited experience with this. I’d love to learn how to work on a Whirlpool built belt drive, since that’s now the only big name...
