Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

Here is the 1970s Maytag A407 Soak and Wash Cycle that inspired the above and a lot of my concept designs. This model has been an immense inspiration and has made me think how vintage machines might look as modern. The only thing I don't like is how the machine drains and then advances to...

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

Wait, they don't drain before going into wash? I like that idea. This is how I envision a 2025 EM Speed Queen. Pre-Soak leads into super wash and super wash leads into wash no drain in between. The cycle below is inspired by the A407. An initial long agitate to stir the clothes, dissolve...

They certainly should bring back the direct drive. What did you mom say after you told her about the error codes and that it needs to be checked out by a repair man?

    dream washer

Pierre, if everyone were like me this is what Speed Queen would look like in 2025. With a metal timer, yellow hex screw water valves, metal dome pressure switch on porcelain coated top and cabinet.

    Tide Original

You'll love it. The scent, the suds, the cleaning, the stain removal, the deodorizing, the user control. You can dose just a little or does a lot for tons of suds. It is very much worth the money and a little goes a long way.

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

Trust me, you don't want such an ability. Negative life experiences stick with you, and it is difficult to forget them or remaster them to the point they don't seem so bad or you question if they were really that bad in the first place. You tend to re-live the bad along with the physical and...

Pat, order yourself some Tide Professional while on Amazon...

    dream washer

It is truly everything someone could ever want or need in a top load washer minus the auto detergent dispensers and hot/warm. These washers were the best built washer ever over-all. They gave you everything, cleaned well, were reasonably durable and lasted. While I would trade anything for a new...

    Tide Original

I still have to try Persil. Its on my list but I keep getting snagged up on buying cases of Tide. There is something about Tide.

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

I believe you. I also hate how most machines drain the water out after soaking or default to off. I like the idea of going directly into wash and getting further results out of my water and detergent.

    Tide Original

Honestly, so do I. Tide Pro is king, but for light to low to moderate soil loads Tide regular works just as well. Also, I've noticed minimal increase in cleaning when using Tide Pro on Hot vs on warm which is great for me in terms of saving energy. Tide regular is similar for average soils-...

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

Ah, ok, I understand now. I rarely use bleach in general. But like you I do like to Soak things when the need arises. I wish my Speed Queen had a cycle that did a 30-40 minute soak before going into wash.

    Tide Original

I miss the old Tide scents as well.

What are you soaking for 3-4 hours?

I encourage you to share your story in public or in private if you feel comfortable doing so. I'd rather here something authentic from you, then hearing it from the internet which has so many made up stuff in between the real deal that it becomes impossible to distinguish between the two and the...

You're at 160? 😳 Mines at 142*F, so I should not be so surprised. But hey, if it works for you it works for you. I can not fault you for that. Older Power Cleans had a short main wash, but around the late 90s they began to re-design the cycles where they hit peak performance. Any Power Clean...

    Tide Original

Tide? Try JOY or DAWN, in a town with soft water. Detergent dispenser full. Yes, it happened, the suds were something to be only seen to be believed.

    Tide Original

IMO you're overdosing. Some suds are good, I love suds, but foaming out of the lid is to much for the load. Tide is potent detergent and meant to be used relatively sparingly.

    Tide Original

Does anyone keep finding themselves going back to Tide Original? Does anyone end up missing the suds, the smell, the looks, the results that come with it? While Tide Professional is great for stained items, I find Tide regular is great for greasy soils and average wear items. I also like the...

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

7 minutes? The Power Cleans I imagine have a 40 minute main wash and a sani rinse like no other: The nice thing about a long timed main wash and final rinse being that no matter the incoming temperature the main wash always has enough time to scour baked on and burned on items. If the inlet...
