Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

Good stuff, not bad. I also have an AO smith gas fired power vent water heater that was installed about two years ago. Its working great. Furnace is a Heil ICP. Its awful and soon to be replaced. I miss all those direct vent gas appliances. My favorite are milli volt heating systems. Gas pilot...

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

They picked the right ones indeed! All my homes came with cheap builder grade GE appliances 😭😱👺😤🤮 What about the rest of the appliances? Stove, fridge, garbage disposal, furnace, water heater?

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

Ok, that makes sense now. You've got a Kitchen-Aid. Those were the most durable residential dishwashers ever built. Maytag DC washer and KitchenAid dishwasher- you've got impeccable taste my friend! I'd love to have the KD-19 frame but with a Whirlpool Power Clean Filter Module inside the...

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

The dishwasher usually heat while washing. Unless you have an old Kitchen-Aid. Those were good machines minus the lack of upper spray arm on some models and the short main wash.

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

You're still heating water in both scenarios. In your case you are heating more water because more water is being used in the first place. A good, realistic dishwasher should heat its own water. There is either a thermal hold or a long enough main wash with a strong enough heater to boost the...

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

Personally I think the education system plays a massive role in this and society's ills in general. Public education is based on two very antiquated dogmas: 1) A one size fits all standard. 2) reward and punishment based motivational compliance. Worsened by the fact no child has the option of...

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

I think many people feel the same way on this. The issue wasn't the old dishwashers used 13.5 gallons of water, it was that many of them simply did not clean one reason or another, forcing pre-rinsing. Pre-rinsing is what wastes water and energy. To the point that whether or not a dishwasher...

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

And more expensive. The Whirlpool Power Clean Filter Module was not only the best cleaning and most energy efficient dishwasher ever created, but it was also amongst the cheapest often being available in the low hundreds toward the last decade of production. A low end electronic power clean...

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

In the US 1 hour cycles skimp on heat and doing so give terrible results. Clean dishes and fresh interiors come from 4 hour cycles. However even the 4 hour cycles can not handle the amount of soil that a Whirlpool Power Clean Filter Module could, forcing some level of pre-rinsing. People...

i wonder how this direct drive whirlpool would look like with a warm rinse true water level wash and rinse and non atc temp

Here is an alternate cycle version with a quicker soak. 30 minutes of soaking and 3 spray rinses. This design cam take into account flow restricted water valves.

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

Not surprised. Nobody is going to do the exact same thing twice. Especially when the second round of washing gobbles up 4 hours of time.

    GE washers...

Here are the gears in a late model filter flo: Pictures before and after this one show various angles, the oil and the transmission case itself. Say what you will about filter flos. Even though they used water and had a sub-par suspension system I'd rather have them than any modern junk.

    Filter Flo?

True filter flo. I still wish they made these today. Or at least some improved version that still recirculates the water into a large removable pan. I really like the pushbuttons and sharp silver knobs. It would be nice if some models had those vertical pushbuttons, others exclusively knobs...

Just the tech sheet or a copy of it 😉 If you want the whole washer you can have it first. I'd end up transplanting the control panel / electrical over to a direct drive, dependable care or Speed Queen. I love the cycles, sequences and timer but not the drive components. Hence I feel this...

I wish they did this with today with a GE filter flo, dependable care, direct drive washer. I love the concept and I feel it is relevant today as ever.

i wonder how this direct drive whirlpool would look like with a warm rinse true water level wash and rinse and non atc temp

That is a good idea. Kenmore had this feature where the washer would fill, agitate for two minutes then stop until manually advanced. LCR model portable Whirlpools and Kenmores had a 30 minute soak followed by a drain and spin. Personally I like having a long soak that advances directly into...

I've never seen an agitator like the one on the left. How does it compare? I personally like the ramp agitators.
