Do you have up close pics of the Ward washer? I like it. A lot.

No offense taken! :) You know what works for you and what does not from personal experience. Nothing wrong with that. Not to change your mind but oil can be re-used many times as long as its heated correctly. Ie. You don't exceed a temp of 375*F. As the oil gets older its smoke point will go...

How Much Fill Timer Before Agitation?

Ok, this peaks my interest. Correct me if I am wrong. From my understanding 4 minutes onward are just dry agitation periods. Meaning they will simultaneously agitate and not fill regardless of the pressure switch sensing full or empty. When the timer is set before 4 minutes, say 10 minutes, the...

How Much Fill Timer Before Agitation?

FWIW, not every solid tub did an overflow rinse. Some did a spray rinse, others did two deep rinses. However, you are correct and this is why I would never let the timer dictate the water level in a perforated tub machine. You need to be able to select a target water level based on load size...

How Much Fill Timer Before Agitation?

Your not wrong here, I don't think I would ever design or want a perforated tub machine where the normal water level is controlled by a timer. All the perforated tub machines I've imagined thus far use a pressure switch to shut off the fill valves.

How Much Fill Timer Before Agitation?

Well, I do agree with you as a whole. However, it is and it isn't nonsense in practice. Some of the best washers ever created like the Frigidaire Unimatic, Norge, Speed Queen, ABC, Blackstone, ect were timed fill and they did it well. However in any case I do feel that at minimum there should...

How Much Fill Timer Before Agitation?

Ah, thank you for clarifying this! 75 seconds of agitation is not enough in my book, they should've included more agitation increments. But the single increment might explain the prior lead in period. BTW, 75 second increment timers are some of my favorites. Here is one cycle I drew up a...

How Much Fill Timer Before Agitation?

I am curious as well. I have two theories though neither could be the real reason in reality: 1) Some older Whirlpool incremental advance timers had up to 72 increments. Some or all the increments would have to be less than 7.5 degrees. It is possible the increment advance degree between spin...

How Much Fill Timer Before Agitation?

More than two, seven timed fill increments were typical in WP BD and commercial DDs. While you are correct these timed fill periods did not control the water level in the tub (in that the timer would eventually stop if the pressure switch was not satisfied) if it tripped before the timed fill...

    Whirlpool Washer Rant!

A Speed Queen front load uses much less water and energy, such that it pays for itself. But if your happy with your VMW then you're happy with it.

How Much Fill Timer Before Agitation?

Timed fill periods before the start of wash was very much a thing with vintage washers including Whirlpool belt drives and commercial coin operated direct drives. I'd like to see select vintage washers put back into production some of which may have for the reasons of longevity, simplicity...

The onion rings are beer batter coating, the chicken are gluten free breading. It is all very crispy, flavorful and never soggy.

    Burgers and Fries

What type of oil are you using, what are you frying and how high is the temp getting? Are you letting the fryer run a bit longer after frying to boil out any residual moisture out? Any oil that is heated just once to its smoke point is technically finished and will be unusable the next time...

    Whirlpool Washer Rant!

You're actually going to tell me a Speed Queen front load uses more water than a VMW? This I want to hear.

Fried again- onion rings and a chicken sandwich. Not a burger, but I love the taste in between. The chicken is perfect and crispy in only 7 minutes.

Live and learn I guess. I am sorry that happened to you. Accidents happen, don't let it stop you from moving on. Forgive yourself and enjoy the taste of fried foods again.

    Burgers and Fries

Heat must have been to high or the oil had a low smoke point. I use Canola Oil or Soybean Oil making sure it does not get past 375*F. Never leave unattended. Even on a setting like 4 oil left on the burner for say half an hour can reach its smoke point. Monitor your temps and make sure heat...

Agitator fins keep breaking on Speedqueen top loader.

Question- would it be possible to time the fills to full if and when you have the time? No rush, but I'm curious what is being used in the spray rinse. Maytag had a way of getting water into he tub that it maximized spray rinsing.

Agitator fins keep breaking on Speedqueen top loader.

Alright, for the record and that I want to confirm my suspicions with certainty. The warm spray might might explain it all. Have you timed the fill from empty to extra large on hot, warm and cold? I am curious how much water is being invested into the spray rinse. I've found that for any...

How Much Fill Timer Before Agitation?

Question- how much time would you allow for filling before the start of agitation in a continuous advance timing scenario? The machine can keep filling once agitation starts. Here is an example of why I ask: The cycle is on hot / warm. On hot the machine in the video takes 6 minutes 35...
