    Bolt-Down Kenmore Washer in Dallas

Ross I have seen some Inglis's and Kenmores at a later date agitating close to that speed, and I've also seen others of that make agitate slower, like about the pace of a Maytag or Speed Queen (approx 60 per minute). I think the WP BD system was built to agitate briskly, and they do at first...

    Bolt-Down Kenmore Washer in Dallas

Belt Drive This machine looks like it can be the famous "wig-wag" belt drive machine. The agitator seen is made to fit that. But wow, a bolt down! I wonder if it has a pump, or is it gravity drain?

    Seeburg Console Jukebox

My Family's Juke-Box My folks have a vintage Wurlitzer 1100 jukebox. It originally played 78's, but is converted to 45's. It has 24 selections, playing only one side. It's not the famous "bubbler" type (model 1050), but is mechanically identical. My folks also have an Electrohome console...

I agree The DD's never had that little strip imprint along the top of the cabinet.

    I just keep finding 'em!

Quick question... Did every washer make offer a washer with suds saver at one time? If not, which ones never did? Gary

    Tangled!

Memories I remember a laundromat that had coin-op Westy slanties. The cabinets were different than the domestic models. They just had a round shell over the drum, and side-swing doors, but they were mechanically the same. I remember the drum always in motion from beginning to end, and rotating...

    Beaumark dryer?

Canadian Department Store Brands Beaumark is The Bay's competitor to Kenmore. We also used to have a department store called Eaton's, which had it's own line called Viking (no relation to the American appliance company). They were built by Kelvinator in the 60's, then by GE in the 70's and...

    Whirlpool POD Year Made

I'd say late 60's at earliest. All dryers on this ad had the extra large lint screen, which meant they were all of the modern direct-drive blower. Many dryers throughout the 60's still had the belt-driven blower with the short lint screen.

Neutral Drain - In A Word "Yuck"

I remember... ...the neutral drain on my parents' old Inglis (I mentioned this machine a while back - an early 60's model). I used to think this function was just for suds saver washers. I thought every suds saver washer had a neutral drain, until I saw other makes spin drain the water out the...

    Maytag color surprise

Still available in 80's That looks like an 80's Maytag set, and appliances of that time still came in harvest wheat.

    Laundromats and Motors

Not what they used to be. I think today's SQs with the perf tubs are no where near as well built as their solid tub ancestors. Those old guys lasted forever in laundromats.

Rescued: 1960's(?) Whirlpool Washer looking for a forever home...

Newer than 60's This washer is from the early to mid 70's. It has a 70's style instrument panel, and a white agitator. Most or all of the 60's models had black agitators.

    Kenmore dryer

My In-laws' old dryer in Phoenix AZ My wife claims that her family's old Kenmore dryer had a side-swing door, and it was an early 60's model, turquoise colour. Oddly, it had a large lint screen mounted in the bottom, instead of the traditional type on top. I think this was the one discussed...

WAY before 86! We're talking mid 70's at the latest, with the lint screen in the door.
