Late 60's Kelvinator and Canadian Viking Washers

Franklin or Another Company? I wonder if the non-indexing tub Vikings with tub brake was actually built by Franklin, or another company. I saw a post of this a year or two back, and the washer actually resembled a Maytag. Correct me if I'm wrong. Gary

    WP Elvis Model

Canadian Arrival The direct drive "Thunka-Thunka" washers arrived in Canada around 1990. We held on to the "Woo-Woo" washers until that time. Gary

AMPing it Up In Maytag Country

At last! I get to see an AMP in action. Thanks for posting this. Too bad the sound doesn't work on my home PC, so I'll have to wait till I return to work to view this with sound. Someone quoted that the pump on the AMP is louder than the one on the helical models. I wonder if it's as loud...

Somethings Have To Go! - NOS Whirlpool Pump On Offer

Quieter Pump? I assume this was one of the first silent pumps WP introduced, to replace the loud ones in the older machines.

    Older Speed Queen Set

Perf Tub It's a perforated tub model. The giveaway is the ridge around the top. The solid tub models had a totally flat top, but when they switched to perf tubs, the top gained the ridge.

    Lady Kenmore Dryer

Tub Shots I can tell by the insides of the tubs that the white dryer is the single-belt-drive still currently used today, while the yellow one has the older style belt-driven blower located at the top right by the lint screen.

    Inglis Liberator washer & dryer

Memories I remember our old Inglis set. It had a black Whirlpool agitator, brush filter, and suds saver. It also had a loud pump that was well heard when the water was emptied out. The dryer was a belt-and-pulley drive, and the exhaust vent could be heard down the street.

    Maytag AMP set

Curious I've always wanted to see a Maytag AMP in action. I can never find it on YouTube. I understand it's similar to the old Speed Queen, with a one-way tranny that kicks from agitation right into spin. I wonder if the motor runs all through the program, or if it shuts down during fill...

the washer and dryer on Bewitched

Canadian Pontiacs As a Canadian and a car buff, I know all about Pontiacs in my childhood. As some truthfully mentioned, the full-size Pontiacs were Chevys under the skin. The exterior and instrument panel was Pontiac (with Chevy steering wheel and seats), but the chassis, engines and trannys...

is this inglis whirpool washer an inglis liberator?

Citation? That looks to me like a late 70's Citation model.

    POD oH Robert???

Remember "I Love Lucy?" Oh, I understand these Launderalls can really be disasterous (LOL!). Lucy gave her old Launderall to her neighbours after Ricky bought her a new washer and dryer. The old Launderall then acted up, spewing out all the water and clothes all over the room, causing a major...

Keeping it Easy for the holiday weekend

But in Canada... Easy was twinned with McClary. Easy and McClary carried on through the 70's, sold by GSW. Then in the 80's, McClary was built by GE.
