    Miele Washer & Dryer

Yes, I mean that difference. Later models had the door opening button on the front, so a kid could acces it if he/she wanted. From my pont of view, I preffer the handle. Could open it if the electricity failed. I see that the W423 had a pump function. When you selected pump, it took away all the...

    Miele Washer & Dryer

But why did the "Miele" switched from the classic handle to that button for door opening?

The most versatile of old washers

Hello. I'm curios, from the European (mostly Continental) FRONT LOADING AUTOMATIC washing machines, made starting to the '60's and up to the '80's or '90's, which where the most versatile? What do I intend to say by versatile? For eg for a specific temperature you could either have more programs...

Adding water at the washing cycle at old front loading washing machines

Well, in the apartament where I live the washing machine is 2015 "L.G." direct drive. I don't like one thing at it: it uses a very low quantity of water at hight temperature washing. At the old "Indesit" (very bad machine, had a lot of problems) it wasn't no problem with it, I just added more...

Early Europeanen automatic front loading machines

The 1st one is an dryer. Probably the pair of 700 washing machine. An "Matura" (probably around 1960).

"Philips" Electra AWB665 Washing Machine with "Spin Drain"

So it is your washingmachine. I dind't think that the man who posted it on youtube will answer, because on youtube I dind't see no newer answers. I dond't want to play with the spining speed at every washing, but when I feel necesarly to adjust the speed when the machine is working, to be able...

"Philips" Electra AWB665 Washing Machine with "Spin Drain"

Finally, I managed to find the clip with the washing machine that at you can adjust the spining speed while the machine it's spining-drying. I like very much this feature... if you exagerate with the speening speed, you can make it spin slowly while it's working. So, I'm curios how relaible...

Early Europeanen automatic front loading machines

Very intresting. I've I will see such machine sent for destroing, it's a must to save it. On that list of patents I've seen some images. But why when I click a patent I don't see an image? In Romania the door of the front loading washing machines is gennerally called "porthole" ("hublou" in...

Early Europeanen automatic front loading machines

OOps, it was only now that I've seen that link with British adds. What is better then an early "Constructa"? A store with them (only if you could find one nowdays): https://www.daidalos.blog/ideenatlas/die-constructa-waschmaschine-muttis-liebling/ Why 2 lids...

Early Europeanen automatic front loading machines

But I'm still curios: that "Constructa" from 1953 does have a flotor? Beeing the 1st automatic front loader beeing made in Europe, they where copyed from other brands or the engineers just looked through some documenation and designed that washing machine?

Early Europeanen automatic front loading machines

Curiosity: in the '50's and '60's in Europe there imported automatic front loaders from U.S.A.? There where any brand manufcaturing 'em here?

    "Miele" 410

Boot or bought? If the story is true, the company wanted to show that is friednly with the consumer and so it's worth buying from them. The "Miele" store from Deva, Romania made 2 films with early - mid '70's "Miele" washing machines. Just for publicity probably, but still intresting.

Early Europeanen automatic front loading machines

Well, thank you for the info. Those fashion magazines are from 1964 and no big info about detergents. But did "Sunil" made detergent especially for automatich washing machines? I do remember hearing or seeing an documentary few years ago (probably heard it at the radio, I'm not 100% sure). The...

Early Europeanen automatic front loading machines

Ha. I've forgot about that aspect. Automatic washing machines are needing detergent with less foaming. Probably "Henkel" (which ownes the brand "Persil") made something. Wait a minute, I do have some West-German 1961-1962 fashion magazines. I will look throught them... can't find any digitized...

Early Europeanen automatic front loading machines

But in case there was a power cut-off there was an emergency way to open the door ("Miele" haves something for machines with no lockers on the door). On "People's Century", ep. 14 "Boom time" there is mentioned the home apliances industry from Italy. Beeing curios what washing machine was in an...

Early Europeanen automatic front loading machines

I know they wheren't made for hospitals. But I sayed the way it looks makes you think of that... But how a hospital waching machine would look like? I wonder how old is the one from the 4th image. Here you can see at bigger size the images with "Bauknecht" WA35...

I will mention the German one because I have found more information about them. Before I do mention them, I must say...

But you can still find spare parts for such machines? The plastic and rubber ones especially.

    "Miele" 410

So the spining speed for "drying" the clothes was only 420 r.p.m.? Not 600-700? That plastic was so good that it looked like metal (at least in the filmings). I don't know if I can find one in Romania. My only chance it is that they where bought second-hand in the '90's and they wheren't all...

    "Miele" 410

Hello. I do have 2 curiosites about the "Miele" 410. 1) What is the rising speed?; 2) The "drawer" where you put the detergent is from plastic or from enameled metal? I've seen some filmings with this machine, I've seen that the lid is made from stainless steel, but I couldn't find any image...
