One Of You Lot Are Just What This Needs.

One of my favorite Vintages Pity they were all unreliable; they were so cool.

    Vintage Maytag Experts

Thank you for the generous information. I have a collection of about 20 Tags (washers, dryers) where some have survived storage better than others. My objective is to end up with an:   <ol> <li>A808S</li> <li>A806</li> <li>A606</li> <li>A406</li> <li>A206</li> <li>A702</li> <li>A502</li>...

    Vintage Maytag Experts

Within the 1960's model lineup, the A906, A806, A606, A206 (and maybe the A406 and A106) are the Motors, Pumps ,Transmissions and cabinets(forgetting about bleach dispensers) interchangeable?   Is having two speeds a function of a different motor or is it some external control?

    Frigidaire portable DW

What a shame So many innovative and well-wrought vintage appliance designs got scrapped mostly because customers had limited imagination, willingness to read the product literature (inspiration for the good idea of printing the loading instructions on the door) or simply they were great ideas...

    Frigidaire portable DW

Gone already What a beautiful machine. Was this like the last of the Spin-Tube models? I'm guessing that because it has a detergent dispenser and a rinse dispenser, which weren't available on the early models.

    Hotpoint dryer

Loved the Silhouettes (sounds like a '60's Motown gr Was it one of these 1967 models?

    What is a Cycle?

I had the same question when I got my first appliance brochures.   GE counted all of these points on their normal cycle dial as individual cycles. I remember wasting a couple of hours one day trying to get the "SOAK" cycle on the dial (a total lie; later they defined it as an "ACTIVATED...

WORST pre-1980 agitator design ever made??

The video tells the story As with the GE Straight-8(early version)and the Straight-6 (the later green versions; the black bakelite versions had a little bit more of the bottom, horizontal fins sticking out over the Activator base), the laundry is being swished back and forth...there isn't a lot...

International Wash-In - Canada meets Australia

Like machines I've dreamt What a great trip! I've  loved getting a look at all of those Australian appliances. Thanks for the show.

WORST pre-1980 agitator design ever made??

This Hamilton gets my vote This pair belongs to a member. The washer looks like an interesting machine; I like the color of the plastic parts. When I examined the agitator, though, I thought it couldn't be a good cleaner. It looks like one of those "Delicate" agitators that lives under the...

I'm looking for a gold roto swirl

Can you post a picture of what you're looking for? I should know this but Kenmores had so many different agitators...

    GE D W

Looks  like a Vintage St. Charles kitchen. Some of the best made steel cabinets. Pity they died.

    GE dryer

A D-720 T! I'm on it!!!!! I've been looking for physical evidence of this pair for years. The last of the T 1960 models before the V-12's were introduced. The 1961 "V" version looks somewhat like the same machine with a few "improvements". Of course the matching washer must be long gone

Aferim! Wonderful skill and ingenuity. How did you achieve these talents?

Beautiful blue Frigidaire 40" range - Hillsboro IL (not mine)

Indeed beautiful. Has the same basic backsplash design as the '58 Unimatic.   Those deep-well fryers/slow cooker crock-pots were a much underappreciated feature like the Sensi-Temp units.

    70's Super SURGILATOR Agitator

Not cheap, but There are a couple of these on eBay as of yesterday. Had I known, I would have copied the auctions. Sorry, but I think they'll be easy to find. One of them was priced at $15.00 with a shipping fee of $115.00.  The other one was more reasonable but I forget the price. Good hunting.

And now for something completely different...

Am I wrong or,,, Looks like that there was the original "Wash Plate"???

Respect! That's a nice fast spin.

    Timed Dry Cycle

I know that a lot of old GE dryers had timers that went up to 140 minutes to accommodate installations where the unit was modified to run on 115v instead of 230v. IIRC opting for the lower voltage meant that most loads took 3 X longer to dry.   They even had a connection under the rating plate...

POD 2-11-25 Whirlpool Imperial Mark XII Washer

Along those lines I've always wondered why Whirlpool never featured those wonderful dry detergent dispensers on their TOL models.   The best thing about the Lady Kenmores IMO was that they were one of the only machines of that era where you could have a cycle with both a Pre-Wash and a second...
