    GE Spacemaker Range

I always thought You could put one of these next to another 30" range and end up with a dandy cooking center with 8 burners and two different ovens for nowhere near the price of a large 2 oven stove these days.

    Tappan Dishwasher

Is that a Plastisol tub? and I think you're right about low usage; their isn't a spot of rust on those racks. It may be a bad cleaner, but it'd be very cool to have. And you all know I'm a sucker for turquoise.

A washer as BOL as it gets...

Sure The GE in my post didn't have a filter flume or a filter pan, but GE had so many variations of BOL models that a customer might be persuaded to spend 10 dollars more for the filter-flo feature or a WASH TEMP control or both. I'm sure a major brands like Whirlpool/Kenmores were offered with...

A washer as BOL as it gets...

Our first washing machine was this kind of BOL It was a compact 24" wide 1956 Whirlpool on casters that was in the kitchen of our Peter Cooper flat in a "Hi-Fi" crate (because washing machines and portable dishwashers were taboo in those apartments so businesses in the neighborhood accommodated...

    Warm Rinses

I'm a WARM person IMHO it's just plain science. Solubility increases with temperature ( I'm talking about the 35o-110o zone). Given the current state of non-phosphate detergents you would have to show me hard data to convince me that cold rinses work as well as warm rinses...

LG WM6998 ALL-IN-ONE HEAT PUMP COMBO

Just when I was getting excited about these new things... ..and was seriously considering risking 2K out of curiosity, I noticed lots of GE "All-in-One" units for sale on our local Craigslist. Wondering if these are disappointments or if they come with, as CU used to term them, "sample...

Maytag washer not rinsing on regular

What a beautiful set More pictures please. IMO early 1970's Maytags were their best generation.   Yes, the selector button assemblies sometimes get gunked up and need some gentle cleaning and some Teflon spray.   I laughed out loud the first time I opened up a Maytag control panel and...

Maytag DE313: how does auto dry work?

Thank you That video was one of the clearest explanations/demonstrations of the AUTOMATIC cycle. Now I understand what GE's COMPENSATED CONTROL was about.

Beautiful 40" GE Double Oven Range needs help

I was lucky enough to find this gorgeous self-cleaning P*7 electric range for my friends Jan and Rick who have been working a 1967 Hotpoint double-oven range to its inevitable death (they were down to one working burner and only the smaller oven functioned for baking, not broiling). I told them...

    Harvest Gold to the rescue!

Check the Rating plate This is most likely a 1973 model. If you check the rating plate on the left side (bottom front) and there should be an "N" at the end of the model number. Looks like it came with a mini-basket.   The big well in the middle of the big filter pan was for a clever powdered...

    1986 GE Filter Flo questions

Noises Is it possible that you're hearing the clicks and clanks of the control timer relays? They are loud and there are two or three of them during the pauses  between agitation and spin. By contrast, the pauses on 'Tags are shorter and the sounds are quiet.

WTH? I was looking forward to this post.   Question #1: Why does it spend the first couple of minutes of the wash cycle spinning the dry clothes?

GE Washer/Dryer 1994 (filter flo?) questions

Freshening tip I'd go old school with 1/2 cup Clorox and 1/2 cup baking soda in HOT water with normal speed, keep the lid on, long cycle and ventilate the room. Rinse with warm water and a 1/2 cup of lemon juice or vinegar.   If it still reeks, do it again with Ammonia instead of Clorox.  ...

    GE V12 Parts

Glad somebody got this machine Recirculation Flumes show up from time to time on eBay although they are usually the modular ones made for later FF models. I've often wondered if they could be modified for the older machines. Keep an eye on the list in the Shoppers' Square forum and do searches...
