    GE POD

Beautiful machines My aunt in colorado bought this GE machine (pulltostart's pi-c) in 1965 after the pump in the 55 GE (pink) went bad. Her 65 was in coppertone, was a truly beautiful machine in every way, I believe it had a lighted console and a mini-basket. She still had the pink GE dryer a...

Hands Up If You Remember This

I used them Had these in the apartment complex (small 20 unit) I lived in during the late 80's. They were white, but had same tub and agitator described. I liked them, wished I could have taken them with me. I think mid 70's models

    Norge POD

Me Arthur I remember that now. Don't have those WB's anymore. Jaune: I've always wondered if there was ever any attempt to create a gas automatic washer. I guess it wouldn't have been easy without incorporating a lot of the features of a car engine/transmission on a smaller scale. Imagine if...

    VACUUMANIA

Dear Suziehomemaker This vac under the end table-the turquoise one-is that a Leywt? I don't know if I speeled the name right, but I remember my late stepdad having one of these. I enjoyed vacuuming with it. But they seem so rare.

50/60's Stove found on Craigslist in Chicago

Light with a match? The ad says no pilot lites. I think they must be dirty. By the time this stove was made, all stoves had pilots; at least for the top burners. The oven may not. Cruddy pilots will not light and you will have to light burners with a match.

    WP Flatware in door re-visited

Bob I'm glad you think that too. I had to confess about the prerinsing, don't rinse anything else though. Do you ever prerinse at all? I felt like you didn't. The staggering of flatware sounds like an interesting concept, what Jaune was talking about earlier. Maybe I'll try it soon

    Frigidaire POD

The age of this ad Your looking at a late 60's ad. Note miniskirt on mom-hemlines were a giveaway prior to the mini-most all woman followed hemline trends. After that, they went with what was most comfortable for them to be seen in-be it midi, maxi, or mini. Also I don't think the door handle...

    Lets hear it for Avacado

fridge Hi Mike, We had that refrigerator in coppertone when I was a teenager. Was glad to see us finally have all appliances the same color. The salesman told my Mom not to get the icemaker on it because "they broke down frequently". I could have died. But I loved the side by side. Your Mom's...

    WP Flatware in door re-visited

Well, Jaune I don't know. Maybe something has changed in the design. The last one I owned was a 90' model and it did ok. Sounds like the loading is correct. I wasn't absolutely fond of the door basket design, although it helped make room in the lower rack. I do have a tendency to pre-rinse...
